back from the movies and fresh from the shower! :D
the movie was pretty okay. i mean, this movie was geared towards little kids so it was obvious how it would end and the characters were pretty predictable. however, i really liked the accents XD and the visuals were really good; the owls were amazingly detailed.
anyway, i'll give you a short summary of what has happened lately cuz i'm lazy [like you didn't know :P] and i kinda forgot some of the details.
last week sucked cuz in AP lang, we have to do a journal every morning for 10 minutes. well, he finally graded them and he basically killed my journal cuz he couldn't read my handwriting since i wrote too small and in light ink and since i wasn't specific enough and stuff. there was a whole bunch of his writing on every page. so yeah, i made a 65 on it and since it counts as a big chunk of my grade, i now have a 70 in his class. and since i had him in first period, that just started my day off splendidly -__-
and then mrs. edger told me that i had to write in darker ink for her essays on tests cuz she couldn't read it, which made her the 3rd teacher this year to complain about my writing. she wasn't mean about it or anything, but it made me realize that i prolly do need to fix my writing if that many people are complaining.
and there were tests and quizzes galore both last week and this week to keep me busy. add a phone to the mix with people texting me all the time, i did not have any free time :P
i still don't have any this weekend either. tomorrow, i'm taking all of the kids to the March of the Dimes Walk-a-thon at my high school track to do it with shanice. after we're tired from that, my uncle's gonna drive us back home and shanice and i are going to spazz while watching the dance battles XP and on sunday, i'm going to be locked up in my room studying and doing my homework.
what is up with blogger today? i can't upload any of the pics on my computer and now i can't even pull up the insert image thinger >:( now i can't upload any of the awesome pics i found lately.
today, there was a pep rally. my 7th period teacher told the class yesterday that we were going to go to both pep rallies again, but today, we had a sub with instructions to take us only to the 2nd rally. well, that really pissed off most of the class cuz the majority were freshmen and sophomores who wanted to go to the 1st pep rally. so they left the class even tho the sub told them not to; he didn't bother to stop them cuz he had already called one of the assistant principals to come down and talk to the class.
by the time he came, only 5 people remained in the class: the only seniors and juniors and 2 freshmen. so we didn't get in trouble, but the rest of the class will be on monday, and they're most likely not be able to go to any more pep rallies.
the pep rally was pretty interesting. there was a lot of dancing, and they turned off half of the lights in the gym so everyone who had glowsticks, were glowing and stuff. lol, the senior side was packed and they were way more into it than the junior side. we're so unenthusiastic :P
i'm tired. i didn't get to go to bed until midnight this morning cuz shelle came in and stayed on my bed the whole time making new ringtones and doing stuff on her laptop. and i have to wake up early and exercise...i kinda wish that i hadn't agreed to do the walk-a-thon...it seems like too much work for in the morning... :P
since i can't upload anything, i'll try again later. i guess that's it for tonight then.
so it's been a while since my last post. lots of stuff happened, and lots of non-important stuff happened :P
firstly, if you haven't read the title yet, i finally have a phone! mommy got me one on sunday, but i was so busy and distracted [cuz of the phone!] all week, that i didn't get to update any sooner.
what had happened was that my dad lost his phone so my mom was like, let's get me a phone while i'm at it. :P i didn't get to choose the phone so i was kinda sad, but i finally have a phone, so i'm happy. plus, we have unlimited text so i've been texting a whole bunch. my inbox keeps on saying that it's full, lol.
gonna go watch The Legend of the Guardians, or whatever it is in half an hour for Ricky and Henry's birfday.
i started my period this morning, so i guess that's why it's even worse and why i've been feeling more depressed as the week went on.
but yeah, i don't have any free time until sunday [i've been extremely busy studying my butt off and doing homework all week] since i'm going to a debate competition on saturday. if i knew that i'd be so stressed out and tired, i prolly wouldn't have gone and filled out the papers for the trip >_>
anyway, i'm tired. i haven't been getting much sleep this whole week because i've been studying or shelle was bugging me when she finally got home [she gets home so late now...], so i'm gonna go to bed now.
even with all of this last minute cramming [yeah, cramming isn't good anyway...don't judge me! i've had alot on my plate this week! :P], i'm pretty sure i'm gonna fail my AP bio test tomorrow... ;-;
since i've finally caught up on all of my updates for this week, be prepared for a spam load full of asian updates~ :P but i'll get to that in a bit after i talk about real life first, like usual.
unfortunately, nothing that crazy happened this week like all of the other weeks since school started. people are still joking about starting riots, but that's pretty much it.
altho yesterday, we had our first pep rally, and that was pretty...entertaining. with our new schedule [every year since i've started high school here, there's always been a different schedule; i'm wondering if we'll have something different next year, too], we have an extra long 7th period for days when we have pep rallies since they're at the end of the day with the freshmen and sophomores going to the first pep rally and the juniors and seniors going to the last one afterward.
since my 7th period teacher was preticipating in the pep rally, the whole class had to attend both prep rallies, so i generally knew what was going to happen by the time the junior and senior class went to the rally, but it was still pretty entertaining the second time around since the people acted even crazier than the first time.
the pep rally was to raise school spirit for our football game against some other county [i know, i have such great school spirit, right? :P], and the theme was MTV School Spirit Awards with guest appearances by famous celebrities such as Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Eminem, Lil Wayne, Justin Bieber, the Kardashian sisters, and some people from Jersey Shore.
all of the celebs were teachers or students dressed up as them and it was pretty funny. i couldn't believe that mr. kirk was eminem who was the host for it all; this one girl in my 7th period told us that she and her friends helped dress him up and drew fake tattoos on him. and all of our rival schools' people were either nerds or shorties, and of course, there were three guys dressed as girls for the northside's cheerleaders like every year.
i have to say that this year's pep rally was way better than any of the other ones from last year or the year before. especially since our rival's dance team was a group of five guys dressed up as old men with walking sticks and bad backs that needed "nurses" to help them walk. it was hilarious cuz once they finally got really to attempt to dance, it was our school's dancers turn and when they were done, the three guys from our school stood in line with the old men and then they all started to dance crazily. one guy [i really think it's adam] started dancing with his cane and it was just hilarious. this was one of those "you had to be there" moments to make sense; my storytelling skills suck :P
i hope the school uploads some pictures cuz this was pretty funny.
as i keep on telling everyone, i really don't like this year's workload. i never have any free time. after school, i'm always busy doing homework, studying, or working on something for school. and i have to start studying for the SAT's and ACT's, too. i only have time to get online to do stuff when i'm procrastinating [which is pretty frequent -__-"].
i never have time to read anymore. last year, i could finish a book in 1-2 days. this year, so far i've only finished reading one book and it took me around two weeks to finish it. last year, because of the schedule, i had plenty of time to read, but this year, i can't even with the AO's! i have an evil AP teacher who makes us continue our class work during our AO's instead of letting us read and stuff.
since my pile of TBR books is so huge, how am i supposed to find time to read it all? originally, shelle and i were planning on going to cali for christmas, so i figured that i could knock out a couple of books over the break, but now, mommy said that we couldn't go since daddy said that if shelle went in the summer, she couldn't go again in the winter. but we're still gonna ask again. if they still say no, i guess i do have alot more time to read over christmas break then when i'm babysitting and stuff.
but that's too far away~ it's only september and i'm just waiting for the next break we have so i can get an extra day off of school.
anyway, enough of those depressing thoughts. onto asian entertainment!
something that i noticed lately is that there are alot more idol singers going into acting. there were alot of idol-actors already since the start of this year, but this is the first time that members of so many of my favorite groups are going into acting.
like, donghae and siwon are going to be acting in a thai drama that's a remake of a japanese manga called Skip Beat. the drama's called Glamorous Challenge [or is it called Extravagant Challenge as someone has pointed out?] and both of them are going to be playing the leading male roles! this is donghae's first time acting so i can't wait to see how he'll do.
i read the first volume of the manga a long time ago, and i didn't like it that much. i mean, it was interesting, but i don't think i was into that type of shojo stories at the time, so maybe i'll like it more the next time i read it? the manga was so popular that it was made into an anime, too.
filming is starting in march of next year, just enough time for me to finish watching jaejoong's drama and some other anime i have! :D
joon is going to be in a short drama with jiyeon from T-ara [she was in God of Study; i love that drama!] called Jungle Fish 2. the drama's about teenagers, so that kind of got my attention since you know, i'm one, too :P it's only eight episodes, so i think i can finish watching it pretty quickly once the subs come out. it starts showing later this month!
and wooyoung's going to be in a drama, too! the drama's called Dream High, and he's going to be one of the main characters in the it. the drama is centered around a celebrity arts school full of students all dreaming of becoming superstars. the fact that it's an art school has made me really want to watch it cuz hellooo~ art schools always have the eccentric people in it!! XD and they're the coolest characters ^^ so i can't wait for it even though it's set to air in january :P
another drama that i'm looking forward to is Flames of Ambition cuz it has Yoo Seungho in it. he was one of the main leads in God of Study that i really liked [what am i talking about? i loved all of the main characters man XD]. altho he's not an idol [straight actor here ^^V], i really like him cuz he's just so cute and he can act and all that jazz. but it's pretty funny, cuz in the drama, he actually has to play as an adult, but in the promo pics, he still looks so young.
SHINee recently did a photoshoot for Lacoste, and i just had to share the pics cuz they look so good XP
changminnie looks so cutely handsome in here! i think this was a pic at an airport...
gotta love the SM family love. they're so adorkable~ XD donghae's hair is shorter! he looks younger when it's short XD
a random pics of JYJ cuz they're awesome even if the other two aren't there, and some of jae cuz he's my bias :P
i found some more pics of their album [which is really good!], and they look AMAZING.
and some wallpapers of them too, altho they're a little small...
found these versions of history in facebook statuses that were pretty funny. history makes so much more sense! XD
2NE1's having their comeback this week! they're being unconventional as usual and releasing THREE music videos! the first one that came out, Clap Your Hands, was really good! i really liked the chorus and tempo and stuff. and the mv was very different, lots of different scenes and outfits.
check it out!
on a random note, yesterday, i found out that a traffic jam in china can last for weeks. it's already been over 10 days since the traffic jam started and it doesn't seem like it's going to let up any time soon. people have been sleeping under their trucks and there have been vendors setting up stalls on the side of the road to sell food and water for the people stuck in the traffic.
i hope it gets sorted out soon; it must be pretty boring just staying there all day for over a week. but then again, that has got to be one of the best excuse ever: "i'm so late because i was stuck in traffic. yeah, it was so bad that no one could leave for weeks. literally." :P
the windstream guy came over this morning and fixed it! apparently, our wireless router was broken or something. we have a new router now and the internet's back! :D
so yesterday was pretty eventful. since we didn't have any internet, shelle, tawanda [she stayed over all weekend], and i went to books-a-million to do our homework since we get free internet there for being a BAM member.
we left sometime around 5 after i finished making mini chocolate muffins, and we ended up leaving around 9 when they closed.
after that, we went to waffle house to eat. i hadn't eaten there since i turned 15 two years ago, so i really liked it. had a plain buttermilk waffle and a grilled cheese sandwich cuz i hadn't had either in a super long time. it was really good.
and shelle ordered some mushroom hash-browns and sausage with gravy with her waffles. since she was so full, i ended up eating her leftovers and was super full by the end of the meal.
so even tho it was 11 at night by the time we came home, we decided to go outside for a walk. but instead, we had a change of plans: shelle wanted to learn how to ride the bike since we finally got a tire pump for our bikes [both bikes had been flat since summer].
so tawanda took the huge green bike while shelle and i took turns learning how to ride my purple bike. i learned how to do it on leann's bike at grandma's house when we went up there during the summer, but i was still kinda shaky and off balanced and stuff. but by the end of the night, i was much better. i only have trouble turning right now ^^V
i really liked riding the bike, trying to go as fast as i could, pedaling and pedaling, my legs pumping so much that they were starting to ache, and the wind blowing at me keeping me cool. yeah, that feeling was really exhilarating XD
so yeah, great night. only bad part was realizing that i had gotten alot of bug bites after i took a shower.
talk later~ i'm supposed to be doing my homework and re-doing my journal for AP lang cuz apparently, i've been doing them wrong the whole time [the majority of the class has, and our teacher didn't bother to tell us until now].
but i'm too lazy to do it and i figured that i'm prolly not gonna do good in that class anyway, so what's the point? i feel like such a failure when i say that...
the internet has been acting up at my house for the past two days. it's really pissing me off!
on thursday, the internet didn't work on any of the computers at home. at the time, i was okay with that since i had to study for a math test [which i'm most likely sure that i failed] and a latin test for the next day. still, in the end, i still procrastinated and read manga =__="
but yesterday, the internet worked on my mom's laptop, but not mine! every time i turned my laptop on, the WLAN light kept on flickering! i couldn't get on the internet at all! >:( when shelle finally came home, the internet from her laptop wouldn't work either, so i don't think that my laptop's the problem.
i only have internet now cuz i'm over at the cousins' house babysitting, stealing someone's free wi-fi. i didn't have to babysit for the past few days, so i couldn't get on the internet earlier. those two days feel like such a long time, lol :P
i actually wanted to do a post earlier, too! cuz you know, i've noticed that i've only been updating on saturdays lately.
like, on sunday, there was a rumor going around on facebook that there was going to be a shooting on monday at school. krista had came over that day, and i was beginning to feel sick, so i didn't bother going on facebook [not like i went on much anyway >_>].
so when sydne and i came to school on monday, we were wondering why there were so many police cars in the parking lot. i saw emily on the way to my locker, and she told me about the whole rumor. a couple people in my first period class didn't go to school because of it. sydne later told me that one of the girls in my class signed out of school after hearing about the rumor cuz she couldn't handle it.
nothing happened, obviously, since there wasn't any news about it or anything, but still, this has been one exciting year already. on the first week of school, two people were busted for drugs; on the second week, there was an almost car accident in the back parking lot; last week, there was this riot thingy in the lunchroom [this guy stood up on a lunch table and started dancing saying "Give us our rights!" --it happened during my lunch, but i only saw how it started since i sat outside with my friends; the guy was dancing on the table in the main lunchroom-- i don't really wanna talk about it since it's been talked about so much already with so many different stories and info]; and then this week with the shooting rumor. i wonder what'll happen next week?
on the bright side, we have labor day holiday! that means an extra day of no school! on the down side, i have to do so much homework that i really feel like crying whenever i look at it. why does being a junior have so much work? it's such a pain -__-
on another note, i thought that i'd only be in seven clubs this year, but i decided to go back to IE in debate since i'm always telling people to join but i always felt weird since i wasn't even in it anymore. plus, with sydne as my ride home [tho not much these days since she always has to stay after school for her play...], i was gonna end up staying at the practices anyway :P
i finally took a pic of my pile of books that finally arrived since the last post! and the other [smaller] stack of books that i ordered on sale at bookscloseout has shipped sometime last week; i'm expecting them to come some time in the next few days. also, i've been looking at deepdiscount, and i really want to buy a couple of books from there too since they're also on sale! but i've been holding myself back on those since my logic has finally won against my shopaholic self by constantly telling myself that i do not have any room for any more books, nor do i have the time to read them either [altho half the books i want to buy are manhwa which doesn't take me long to read... ^^]. i keep on telling myself no, not yet every time i look at my cart... ;-;
anyway, the promised picture! tada! XD
the pile's shrunk a little already since i read most of the manga and the comic book at the top of the pile [talk more about it later on].
i only bought gakuen alice cuz it was on sale for $4, and since i've seen/heard some good reviews for it. plus, it was a comedy, something that i can't get enough of XP so i read both volumes in a couple days while procrastinating and stuff, and it really is funny! i also really like it since there's no heavy drama about people being in love since the manga is about little elementary kids with powers and stuff. of course there's always a fangirl, but it's not bad, and the mystery does make you want to find out what happens next.
i like the series, but i'm not gonna go out and buy the next volumes anytime soon since i already have alot of manga series that i want to finish first, and since i really want to read my at least 1/4 of the books/novels that i've bought first. i've only been reading manga lately since they're so much shorter to read and satisfy me than being dragged into reading a long book that will definitely distract me more from my homework and studying.
anyway, there's already 22 volumes of the manga out in japan, but tokyopop only has the first 10 volumes out so far, so i can wait a bit more to read it all in one go. there's also an anime of gakuen alice over [i think] the first six volumes. not sure if it's licensed for the US or not, but maybe i'll watch it some time when i ever finish watching alot of other things first...
the other manga/manhwa, i bought the first volumes to them some time during last summer, never really cared about reading the rest of the series that much. but i did want to get at least the second volumes to see if i should continue or not, so i bought them. i bought the fifth volume of legend, too cuz it was really cheap XD
for the Cyanide and Happiness book, it's really a collection of comics from the four creaters of their online comics. i found one of their creaters on deviantart a long time ago, and i really liked his comics, so i decided to support them and buy their book! it's really hilarious, but probably very rude and insulting to some people since they joke about aids and cancer and other weird things.
these are some of my favorites from one of the authors that i found online.
the rest of the books are self-explanatory. the summaries sounded interesting, and the reviews were good, or i really liked the author's other books and the summaries sounded interesting and the reviews were good :P
there's not much other news since i kinda forgot about them, and i haven't caught up with everything yet since i had no internet lately >:(
but there's this pic of JYJ that was so cute that i wanted to share with you!
that's it for now. i'll try to post later if i ever remember what else happened this week.
