Weekly Haul (98)

There were a lot of used books on sale at Second and Charles when I was up in Kennesaw, and since I already had store credit from previous transactions, I basically got the DanMachi series for free, lol. The other two books were preorders that I made earlier this year. I still can't get over how shiny and pretty Jane, Unlimited looks!

Dinners, Concerts, Trips, Moving, Birthdays, and Movies!

This has been a pretty exciting month! There was a lot going on, and I still can't get over some of it, lol. This month has really flown by...

Earlier this month, Mikey's mom invited us over to eat curry. This is because one time when Harrison and I were over, I told her that Harrison wanted to try her curry, so two weeks later, she invited us all over. However, instead of just making a giant pot of curry, she also made wings and egg rolls. There was so much food that we got full really quickly. There were so much leftovers that she gave all of us tupperware to bring home, lol.

After we ate, we went to Harrison's place to watch Get Out since there wasn't enough space in Mikey's room to watch it, lol. It was definitely up to the hype; I understood why Mikey and Jerry were scared when we went to Harrison's parent's house last month, lolol.

That next week, I drove up and spent a week in Kennesaw at Shelle and Kyle's house to go to two concerts with them. The first concert we went to was Taeyang's concert that was later that night. Our cousin, Megan, also came with us, and it was so good! He was so good live! Ugh, I still can't get over it! Megan and I were screaming every time we recognized one of his songs and kept on hoping that he would take off his shirt at some point, lol.

He sounded just like his recordings, hitting all of those high notes like it was nothing. His live band were really good on their own, and they added a rock vibe to his songs, which made them sound even better??? Although he didn't sing the full song for a lot of his songs, he sang so many of them that I was surprised that I didn't recognize only one of them!

In between a couple of songs, he would talk to the audience in English, and his English is so cute! He was so cute! Then, he sang so many songs for his encore, including some Big Bang songs like Bang Bang Bang and Fantastic Baby! Argh, it was so gooood! And the animations and videos that played in the background as he sang and in between songs was really awesome! They complemented his music really well.

That weekend, Hurricane Irma hit Florida and Georgia, so we were all checking up on everyone back down in Middle Georgia. David lost internet for a couple of days, my parents lost power at the farm for two days, and Mikey's car narrowly avoided getting hit by a giant tree limb. Other than that, we were all okay.

That Sunday, everyone came up with Mikey to go to his last practice session with Kalman Csoka before his Taekwondo tournament. Since Alec and I were already near Atlanta, we met up with them to get brunch before his appointment before going there all together. Hopefully we weren't too much of a nuisance during his practice, since there were a lot of us there joking around, lol.

Afterwards, we went to Downtown Atlanta to go to Vitality Bowls, since Mikey wanted to go there last time only for it to be closed by the time we were free. Luckily, it was open that day, so we all got smoothies, and Mikey and Victoria got a vitality bowl to share. Then we walked around for a bit and went to Blick, the art store that we usually go to when we're downtown. After that, we went to Sam Flax, this even bigger art store that Shelle showed me when she used to work at her old job. It was even bigger than I remembered, lol. I ended up getting a lot of pens because I'm a sucker for nice, fine-tipped pens, lol.

For dinner, we went to Iron Age, which was the majority of the group's first time eating KBQQ, so it was a fun experience getting everyone to try different types of meat and side dishes. We had two grills since there was so many of us, and our side ended up eating 11 different entries, lol. Harrison was super sneaky and paid for all of us while we were still eating, the jerk.

Afterwards, even though we were super full, we decided to get dessert at one of the cafes next door. We ended up trying Cafe Mango Six, which was still relatively new. Omg, I loved the place as soon as I walked in because there was so much mango flavored products, and they had a bunch fake food examples of their products, which really made me want to buy a lot of them, lol. Luckily, I was too full to order more than a mango and coconut milk drink, lol. But Victoria ordered one of the honey toast, and it was amazing. I'm definitely going to get it next time!

The next concert I went to with Shelle and Kyle was the Jon Bellion concert where Carina was also supposed to come with, but she had to call it off because of work, which sucked. But the concert was also really good! We just weren't expecting to have so many opening acts, lol. They were all pretty good, but Jon Bellion was definitely the best one of the night. He told us that he believed live concerts should be an opportunity to sound different from recordings, so all of the songs he performed had a different vibe or remix to make them sound even better. Like, iRobot was so good remixed; I wished that it was also available on Spotify or something, lol.

I went home the next day, and the next Friday (this past Friday), we celebrated Jerry and Alec's birthday, since their birthdays are right next to each other. We had a potluck, so it was interesting to try all of our food and goof off. Jerry made meatballs, so we all made a lot of balls jokes, lol. We also watched a lot of Gordan Ramsey videos where he yelled at incompetent chefs and Hotel Hell, lol.

The next day, Harrison and I helped Mikey move the last of his uncle's stuff out of his apartment. Harrison and David moved the majority of his stuff last weekend, so this move was more to just throw away the rest of his stuff that he didn't need. God, his uncle had this one probably leather rolling chair that was so old and sticky that it was disgusting to touch and fell apart after it was moved downstairs. Thank god he was throwing that away, lol.

Afterwards, we went to Sushi Thai for dinner, and Mikey and I got to watch Harrison slowly become drunk since he ordered two large sakes and one small sake before ending the night with another large sake. He actually ordered a small sake at the end, but Josh, our waiter and somewhat friend, ended up charging him for a small and gave him a large. Lol, we got Josh to take a shot with Harrison because of that.

The next night, we all met up again to go watch IT. It was hilarious because Alec hates scary movies, Victoria also gets scared during scary movies, and I jump during jump scares and the like, and we were all sitting next to each other. Lol, Alec progressively slumped down in his chair throughout the whole night to the point that he was basically parallel with his seat and kept on saying that he hated us for watching this movie.

And today, I'm going to grab dinner and hangout with Cam! I haven't seen him in months! It'll be good to catch up, especially since he got a new boyfriend and has been pretty happy about it according to his snapchats, lol.

So yeah, this has been a pretty eventful month! I'm really glad that I got to experience all of these crazy fun things with all of my family and friends. :)

Book Unhaul (7)

Just clearing out my bookshelves again. I read Shiver and the first two books in the Paranormalcy trilogy, but it's been so long since I read them that I barely remember what happened, and I don't feel like rereading them anymore. I've lost my interest.

I will probably donate these books to the library when I remember to go. Right now, they're just in a box full of last month's book unhaul collecting dust.
