There's a reason why I have two different copies of All the King's Men. As I said in one of my earlier posts, I had to get a copy of the book for AP Lang by Thursday. Well, last Sunday, I had ordered a copy online, but I didn't know when it would arrive since the site (Bargain Book Shop) didn't send emails saying when the packages shipped and basically gave no information on orders besides giving you a receipt.
So, when my friend Emily went to this used bookstore in town to see if they had copies of the book left, they only had one so she ordered a copy for me there since they said that it only takes two days for them to come in, and we were on a deadline. Plus, I figured that I could just cancel my order online, only I later found out that couldn't cancel it, so I got a used copy from the bookstore on Thursday morning since Emily went to pick it up for me since I had to babysit, and then, yesterday, I got the package of books that I ordered online.
And that is how I acquired two copies of All the King's Men, lol. I'm still not sure what to do with the extra copy, but I figured that I'll just eventually sell it back to the used bookstore. :)
Lol, these are some covers that caught my eye recently. The majority of the books are coming out later this year, so some of the covers are subject to change later on. Either way, I can't wait to read them! ...Even though I already have a ginormous pile of books to read... -__-"
And I'm so excited for Where She Went! I loved If I Stay, and I died from happiness when I found out that it had a sequel, lol. And look at that cover! So pretty! O_O
I realized something odd while I was putting away the laundry earlier...out of all the people in my house, my brother's pile of clothes is usually the biggest compared to everyone else. O_O He's also the youngest in the family and a BOY at that. Lol, what does he do? Change twice everyday?
But yeah, I usually end up doing the laundry since everyone else is either not home or too busy to even notice that the basket's overflowing. Or it's Brian who does not know how to do any household chore besides vacuuming. :P
Took this pic a couple of weeks ago when I was walking home from babysitting. The amount of birds flying past was practically endless!
This week is so busy! I have at least one test, quiz, project, lab report, paper, and/or reading every day for the rest of the week! There's not enough time to do everything! I'm never gonna sleep this week either! Last week was just as bad! ;__;
*sobs* This is just too much! When's our next break?! XP
So I was looking at my blog and realized that I've only had one update so far this month. Even though I posted so much already for January compared to how much I posted last year, the amount of posts with actual updates and stories has gone down quite dramatically. Maybe I'm making a big deal out of it too early...I mean, it's only been a month since I started the Tumblr Pics post and a few months since I started doing the IMM. I don't know.
I just know that I don't like it. I mean, I like sharing all of the books and pictures that I've found, but I also like to write about what's been going on in my life since that was the original purpose of creating this blog. So, I'm going to try and write more of the daily [more likely weekly] happenings of my life.
The main problem why I haven't been doing that lately is because of school. I know that I've written about it enough, but it's true. School has been sucking up all of my free time. When I don't have homework to do, I've got to read and study for a test or write up a lab report or go to a meeting or finish this project or write an analysis, etc. You get what I mean.
Plus, it's just the beginning of the second semester of school, which is always harder than the first semester; it's when you have to utilize everything that you learned in the first semester and start learning the harder stuff. Also, I've got graduation tests and the SAT and ACT to worry about. Actually, my parents are the ones nagging about it, lol. But still, that's a lot to juggle with clubs, homework/studying, and babysitting almost everyday.
This is the main reason why I don't have much time to read anymore. I still read everyday [there's this site called Wattpad that I read original stories on my iTouch almost everyday since I'm addicted to the convenience of always having a story to keep me preoccupied whenever I need it at the randomist times; you can check out my library here and see what I'm reading.], but it's hard to find time to read a book, especially when I'm running on five hours of sleep everyday. I don't know why it's taking me so long to fall asleep when I keep on going to bed around 11:30-12:30 every night this week.
Also, I've got to start reading All the King's Men by Robert Penn Warren for AP Lang, so that's going to take up a lot of my reading time. I need to hurry up and get me a copy of the book! I've already went to Books-A-Million Wednesday night to see if they had any, but they had already sold out. Then, I went to Gottwal's and they were out, too! Someone told my teacher that Books-A-Million was getting more copies on Sunday, so I'm going to see if one of my friends can take me so I can get a copy. If I can't, I figured that I could get Shelle to get a copy of the book from the Macon bookstores since she'll be around there on Sunday anyway.
Anyway, here's a recap of what's been up lately other than the endless hours where I studied, did homework, and procrastinated, lol. I can't believe that this week went by so slow! It feels like forever since it was Sunday!
Last Friday, my friends Sydne and Shanice were planning on watching The Green Hornet with me after I got off from babysitting. Unfortunately, I ended up babysitting until eight and we had already missed the first half of the movie which was the last showing that we could go to since they both had to be home at ten. So, instead, we decided to watch a scary movie at my house after getting some pizza since neither of them had dinner yet.
So we rented Case 39 from the Red Box and started watching the movie at my place. We didn't get to finish the movie, though, since they had to go home early, so we planned on having a movie marathon on Sunday when I had my day off.
Saturday came around and Krista called to see if I wanted to hang out on Sunday since we hadn't seen each other for a while. Since I had already made plans, I invited her to hang out and meet my other friends. So, on Sunday, Krista came over an hour and a half earlier than Sydne and Shanice and we had a Nerf war with my little brother, Brian. :D
On Saturday, Brian had went to Wal-Mart with my mom and bought two Nerf guns, and I had given Krista a Nerf gun as part of her Christmas present, so everyone had a weapon. It was so fun! I had put Linkin Park's Hybrid CD in the DVD player so we were rocking out to some hardcore music while running around the house shooting each other. It was epic. After a half hour break, we decided to record our war, so I got out the camcorder and my camera and we filmed the main scenes which were in the living room and the kitchen. We didn't record much since Sydne and Shanice finally came over a while later.
Here's the guns that Brian bought.
I couldn't find a pic of the other gun that he has, but it looks similar to this one.
And I can't find a pic of the gun that I got for Krista, but it looks like a slightly smaller version of the first gun and the fact that it's blue instead of yellow.
I need to hurry up and buy my own gun so we can have an even awesomer war next time. :D
Anyway, after attacking Sydne and Shanice, we started watching Case 39 again for a while until it was near the time of the showing for The Green Hornet that we planned on going to. The movie was hilarious! Britt, the main character who played The Green Hornet, was kind of an idiot, but Kato was AWESOME. He was the best character in the movie! Lol, I'm prolly being biased. :P
We dropped Brian off home after that. My mom was freaking out cuz I forgot to tell her that we were going to watch a movie, and since I had my phone on silent during the movie, she was really frantic since Brian was no where to be found, too. I got a text from Shelle telling me to call Mommy since she thought that we were all kidnapped, lol. So I called her and she yelled at me for not telling her anything and making her worried. Surprisingly, when we got home, my mom was all calm [I think it was cuz we had a lot of guests over, lol] and let my friends and I go out to eat at a Mexican restaurant near our house.
After eating, we went back to my house and watched some more movies. We finished watching Case 39, then watched Zombieland since Shanice had never seen it while everyone that she knew had already watched it.
After that, we watched Get Him to the Greek. I really wanted to watch it since Sydne had the soundtrack on her iPod, so I had listened to it a lot on the way to school in the mornings when she drove me and since she told me the story behind the really weird songs from the soundtracks were so randomly hilarious. The movie was kind of a disappointment though. I thought that it'd be funnier, but it was just weird crackiness in general.
Sydne and Shanice had to go home pretty soon after that. Krista was spending the night, so we had lots of catching up to do, which is why we decided to go for a walk since we were still feeling pretty lazy from just stuffing ourselves full of Mexican food [omg, I LOVE their cheese dip! It's the best!] and watched movies back-to-back.
What was supposed to be a walk ended up being a jog/bike/run/walk because I wanted to go running since I love to run in cold weather, but since Krista was in worse shape than I was, we settled for a jog, but that didn't last long. Since I still wanted to go running, I suggested that she rode my bike while I ran beside her, but since she was having trouble riding it [I still can't ride that well on it, lol], we ended up taking turns walking with it during our walk.
After we got back from our walk, we watched Tomorrow, When the War Began since I sent Krista a trailer of it earlier in the week to see if she wanted to watch it with me since I thought that she'd really like it. I had already watched the movie the day I finished reading the book [which was AMAZING! I so want to buy the rest of the series and devour them all! XD] She loved the trailer, and in the end, she loved the movie. Like me, she's glad that there are going to be two more movies coming out! :D
And that's basically all that happened lately! This whole school week was full of endless homework and studying, and no one wants to read about that. Lol, I don't even want to type it up. :P
However, earlier today, I saw these pictures that I couldn't help but remember what Krista calls me sometimes: a book hoarder. If I ever acquired this many books by the time I have my own home, it would be quite the accomplishment. Then Krista would really be right, lol.
And finally, here's a buttload of Tumblr pics that I like! Prepare yourself! Some are really random! :P ...and I really do mean a buttload; there's A LOT.
And to finish off this epically long post, Yunho and Changmin's Why (Keep Your Head Down) MV cuz they're awesome. :D It's not the same without the other three members, but I really like their new album. :3
