Also, if you haven't noticed yet, I finally changed my blog theme. I don't even know how long it's been since I last changed it. I just know it's been over five years for sure since it's been at least that long since DBSK split up. But yeah, I saw this template and liked how simplistic it was. Not too sure if I like or don't like the bullet points and numbered formatting, but we'll see. Since I still don't have Photoshop or Illustrator yet, I'm not sure if I want to design a header or just leave it off for now. Anyway, I hope you like it! It looks a lot more modern, and I'm liking how the color font really stands out since everything's just black and white.
Lol, I just realized that I have two and a half months of catching up to do. Let's start with Thanksgiving first and then work our way through Christmas holidays
Since we hadn't all seen each other since Michelle and Kyle's wedding in March, my girl friends and I decided to hangout the night before Thanksgiving. Due to everyone's busy schedule, we ended up having a midnight friendsgiving at Waffle House. It was nice to catch up and see everyone since it had been a while.
The next day, on Thanksgiving, I ended up having another friendsgiving with some of my other friends since we all didn't have plans for the holiday. My family was planning on celebrating on the weekend when Michelle and Kyle came down, so we almost no one was home since my bro was going to a party as well. David and Kim didn't have any plans as well, while Mikey didn't have plans since his mom wasn't planning on doing anything, and Jerry's had to stay behind for work the next day while his family went out of state to visit other family for Thanksgiving. In the end, we hungout at Jerry's parents' house and ate a lot of food and played Super Smash Bros all night before watching a couple episodes of The Punisher. All in all, a good night, lol.
That weekend, mom went all out making a Thanksgiving feast for us to celebrate the holiday. Man, there was so much food. There was leftovers for days. I think I gained so much weight that week alone, lol.
The next week, I hungout with Jessica, since I hadn't seen her in forever. We went to go eat out at Chico & Chang, since Jessica still hadn't eaten there yet, and then we went to the mall since it was close by, and Jessica needed to do some Christmas shopping. We went into Ulta on a whim, and found out that Urban Decay was holding a master's class the next day on all of their products, so we got suckered into signing up for it, lol.
After shopping around, we went back to Jessica's house to chill and watch a movie and had breakfast for dinner. While we're in the middle of the movie, we got a Snapchat from Cam of an event happening downtown where there were a lot of pretty lights and s'mores, so we called him up and asked him for the details. Which is how we ended up going downtown in 20 minutes, lol. Apparently there was a Christmas light show/audio happening downtown for the rest of the month, and there were free s'mores as well. We walked around and hungout with Cam, and I finally got to meet his new boyfriend; they're so cute together!
I eventually went home, since I didn't bring anything to spend the night at Jessica's for the master's class the next day. I went back to her house the next day, and we barely make it on time for our appointment time, lol. Ulta was packed that day because of the class. There was a bunch of people signed up. We got to try a lot of their products and learned how to contour and use glitter among other things, lol. It was pretty fun, but man, even with some of their products on sale, things added up, and it got pricy.
Lol, Ulta had a deal where if you spent over I think $100, $200, and $300, you got three different exclusive Urban Decay bags with special goodies inside it, and Jessica and I cheated the system by asking our cashier, who we had the previous day, lol, if we could combine our purchases and pay separately to get the first two bags. She was totally okay with it, and we ended up each getting the bags. We also got the same $100 exclusive bag again because there was a mix up with Ulta's promotion that we asked about. Another perk for taking the class was that we got our Naked Palates graffitied by some famous graffiti artist from New York, which was really cool.
We spent so long there afterwards, that we ended up making friends with a couple of the people there, lol. By the time I left, I barely had time to take off my makeup and make it to Harrison's place to hangout with everyone. I think we ate and drank and goofed off as usual, lol.
The next Saturday, Alec made us homemade ramen, which he had been talking about doing for a couple months now, lol. It was so good! Omg, his eggs were amazing. And then his mom made too many desserts like usual, so we were stuffed for the rest of the night.
Then, from December 14-18th, my family minus Michelle and Kyle went to New York to celebrate the holidays as a family vacation. Man, our flight was so early, that I didn't even sleep since we had to leave the house at 3:30AM. Dad was way to peppy for 7 in the morning while we waited for our plane, lol.
We went to the Empire State Building not too long after we dropped our luggage off at the hotel, since it wasn't check in time yet. It was pretty awesome. I took a lot of pics. The wait wasn't the long since we booked tickets ahead of time, which was nice.
Afterwards, we ended up going to Bryant Park, which was really pretty, especially with all of the snow everywhere. There were a lot of small stalls open, and I had a lot of fun exploring them all and drooling over the food stalls, lol.
We went to Korea Town to find dinner, and man, I didn't realize just how expensive places were to eat in New York compared to Georgia. A lot of the restaurants had their menus outside so you could browse through them, and I was so astonished at the prices. We ended up going to one of the pricy places anyway since my mom wanted hot pot and saw it on their menu, lol. Then, we saw this one place that had Kung Fu Tea on their door, so went there for dessert and found out that it was essentially a three-story building full of small restaurants and dessert shops. We ended up eating dinner there the next to nights, lol.
The next day, we went on this bus tour. We got off at M&M's World first and explored it. The whole place smelled like chocolate. It was great. We also went on a ferry tour and saw the Statue of Liberty and the two iconic bridges in New York.
The next day, we went on a walking tour of the World Trade Center. Not the best idea since it was freezing outside, but whatever; we bought the Groupon tickets ahead of time, lol.
We got there an hour early, so we walked around and explored and played Pokemon Go. We eventually ended up eating at this big Amish restaurant/grocery store, which was pretty cool. Brian and I finally got to try some authentic New York pizza, lol.
For the tour itself, our tour guide was super passionate about the history of New York and the areas affected by 9/11. He was pretty cool, and he showed us some pretty cool places like this really old church that ended up being an important rest area for firefighters during 9/11. Dude, the squirrels near the governor's house give no fucks. They're not scared of anyone, lol.
The next day was our last day there before we had to leave in the morning, so Brian and I wanted to go and do our own thing, but the parents ended up just going with us. We went to Lower Manhattan, since Brian wanted to go to the Supreme store and be a hype beast (lol), and I wanted to go to this cool Adidas store that we passed on our way back from our ride a few days ago.
When we got there, Supreme wasn't opening for another 30 minutes, so we just walked around and our parents ditched us. By the time we went back to Supreme around 12:45, there was a line in front of the door with legit security monitoring the line and found out that the line extended down to the next street. The lines seemed to go pretty fast, so I was like, let's just get in line, which was how we ended up in a third line. We waited in long so long that we became friends with our neighbors next to us, lol.
In front of us were a bunch of middle school kids who were straight up entrepreneurs. They were sneakerheads who had their own table at a sneaker convention that was happening somewhere in New York that weekend, and they were planning on buying a bunch of stuff at Supreme to resell at school and on their Instagram page for more than the original price since they're always sold out. Like, these kids told us that they even sell the free stickers and business cards to their classmates because they want it, and one of the kids actually used the Supreme bags you got from buying something and turned it into wallets and sold those. It's ridiculous how much people like this brand because of their exclusivity.
Behind us was this mom who was trying to surprise her son for Christmas, but she eventually got out of line to do some errands with the promise to come back as soon as possible. Behind her was this father and son who were pretty funny and surprised at how ridiculous the line was like the rest of us. And the security guard told us that this was how long the lines usually were everyday except on Thursdays when they restocked; those lines were even longer.
Basically, Brian and I were in line for at least two and a half hours. While I originally didn't have any plans on buying anything--I just wanted to see what the hype was about their products--because we stayed in line for so long, I had to buy something, lol. Brian got a sweatband, and I got a three-pack of their Hanes shirts so I could give one to David and Brian, lol.
Buy the time we finally left the store, we went to this place called Champion Pizza Soho that one of the security guards recommended us. The pizza was so good. I was in heaven, lol. Also, apparently it's a pretty famous place since they had a bunch of newspaper clippings featuring the place and pictures of celebrities eating there. Apparently Carrie Fisher ate there before.
We passed this awesome graffiti of Frida Kahlo as we left the pizza place.
We actually went to two Adidas stores that day. We went to the Adidas Originals Store, where they originally opened up at. It wasn't the one that I wanted to go to, but it was still pretty cool. They didn't have the right size hoodie that Brian wanted, so they directed us to another Adidas store nearby, which ended up being the one that I originally wanted to find, lol. Brian found his hoodie, and just as we were about to leave, I found these awesomely comfy sweatpants on sale, so of course I had to buy them, lol.
Our parents had left us while we were still waiting in line for Supreme to go to Chinatown, which was nearby. In the end, we met up with them back at the hotel. Then we went out to find food and pack up since we had to leave at 4 again (Brian and I didn't sleep at all, and we ended up leaving at 3:30 since dad woke up, too, lol.).
A couple days later, back at home, I ended up unknowingly drinking moldy orange juice. To be fair, it still had a week before it was supposed to expire, and it didn't taste that different than normal. I had an upset stomach for a whole day and could barely eat anything without getting diarrhea. It was a rough day. I didn't even know that it was food poisoning until a couple days later when David was going to drink the orange juice and saw that it was gray and found mold growing at the bottom of the carton.
A few days later, we threw Emily a surprised birthday party at her parents' house. A week before, Emily's mom contacted Meethu and asked us if we wanted to throw a surprise party at their house, since Emily was going to be home for Christmas, so of course we all came over, lol. It was really fun; Emily's mom and sister planned the whole night with food and games, and Emily had no clue that we were planning it. Her mom made Emily go out with her boyfriend and sister to look at Christmas lights so we could come over without her noticing, and she actually ended up picking up the pizza that Emily's mom ordered and meant to pick up later. Lol, Emily wasn't even suspicious of picking up eight pizzas for her family.
After that, because Seth had contacted Shanice around the same time as Emily's mom contacted us about plans, we made plans to hangout with him and his fiance after Emily's party. We originally planned on going to Waffle House since it's always late, but because there were so many of us with Shanice and Jackie's boyfriends joining us later, we decided to go to Rigby's instead. Man, none of us have seen Seth in years; it was great to catch up with him again.
The next day was Christmas Eve, and we decided to celebrate then and open presents since Michelle and Kyle were leaving later that night. I got a couple of books, some super spicy ramen, and another Urban Decay mini eye shadow palette. All in all, a good Christmas, lol.
David also came over to open his presents and eat dinner even though he felt kind of sick. The next day, I started to feel sick, too, lol. I blame it on my already low immune system because of the moldy orange juice! But yeah, I kept on feeling worse the next few days. It kind of sucked, but that didn't stop me from hanging out with everyone at Alec's house a few days later, drugging up on medicine and cough drops, and playing Overcooked and yelling at everyone while playing the game. Lmao, we were all yelling so much at one point that his dad came in to see what was going on. It probably wasn't the best idea for someone with a cold because I felt even worse the next day, lol.
This post is ridiculously long as it is. I think I'll stop here and talk about the new year and everything else that's happened in January in another post, lol. I really need to get better at blogging events earlier rather than later while things are still fresh in my memories.
Anyway, that's all for now! Later!
