Weekly Haul (93)

These are all of the books that I've bought this month. For someone who's only read one book this year, it's a lot more than I was expecting to buy, lol. If you couldn't tell, I've been expanding my horizons and buying more books that aren't YA. I haven't really started reading any of them yet though, lol.

Also, I bought the Heroes of Olympus box set last year, but I kept on forgetting to include it in my hauls, so here it is now. :)

Bought:
The Battle of the Labyrinth by Rick Riordan
The Last Olympian by Rick Riordan
The Sympathizer by Viet Thanh Nguyen
The Vegetarian by Han Kang
Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo
The Color Purple by Alice Walker
All the Feels by Danika Stone

Dust Lands by Moira Young
Yes Please by Amy Poehler
Modern Romance by Aziz Ansari
Counting by 7s by Holly Goldberg Sloan
Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine
Prince's Gambit by C.S. Pacat
The Heroes of Olympus Box Set by Rick Riordan

My only free weekend and I'm still doing homework last minute

The past couple of weekends have been busy because I've been hanging out with friends or doing wedding stuff with my sis and her fiance. This is the only weekend for next month or two where I am free to do whatever I want before being bogged down with case studies and exams, and instead of catching up on homework like I should, since I've been slacking off because of everything happening over the weekends, what am I doing? Everything but homework, lol.

I finished watching the second season of Voltron: Legendary Defender, and it was so good. The first season really set up the plot and showcased the characters and their difficulties getting along, and it was great. It had just the right amount of humor, action, suspense, and a cliffhanger that left you burning for more. Overall, a great introductory season for a reboot.

The second season was even better. It was darker, more mature as the characters learned from the consequences of their failed plan and realized just how tough their enemy is. There was a lot of plot and backstory for some of the characters, which was great (I ship Klance as much as the next fan, but I am not opposed to Sheith anymore at this point), but I wished that there was more characterization for some of the other characters as well. The action was even more intense, and the comedy was still hilarious and amusing. Pretty much, I didn't want the season to end, because that just meant waiting even longer for the next season to come out. Plus, that cliffhanger! UGH. Why you gotta do that???

I pretty much started reading Voltron fanfics right after I finished the series, because I needed some happy fluffy fics where everything was fine (or was going to be fine, lol). That's why, instead of catching up on lots of reading for classes, I ended up reading 60k fanfics, lol.

I don't know why I do these things to myself. I'm just screwing myself over in the long run. -__-" At least I finished the discussion post for my online class an hour ago. Not like it's due tomorrow or something, lol.

Back to the grind...

School started back again earlier this week. I have night classes on Monday and Tuesday and an online class that I haven't really checked up on yet. It's so sad that I'm already slacking off. -__-" I just want to graduate already.

I've already almost fallen asleep in both of my classes already, lol.

Plus, the next few months are going to be stressful because Shelle and Kyle's wedding is in March, and there's so much to do if you're in the wedding party. I'm also helping host the wedding shower, so that's been a headache because of Kyle's dad and stepmom being so fucking difficult.

Now I've got to worry about finding good wedding shower invitations and how to print them cheaply since I'm just a poor college student.

We've been working out extra hard this week, and it really shows. We did 236 pushups on Monday, 420 jump squats on Tuesday, 170 bicep curls and 170 tricep extensions yesterday, and 240 burpees today along with warmup exercises and challenges after all of these main workouts. Tomorrow is leg day again, so I'm not sure what we're doing yet. All I know is that my legs are still recovering from Tuesday's jump squats. D:

Since school just started though, I've been hanging out with David a lot since we have a lot of free time. Obviously that's going to change soon once we both get swamped down with homework and tests, but it's nice to just chill together in bed. Naps with the bae is the best!

I found out that Shanice is planning on moving to Atlanta next week, so we're trying to get together one last down here tomorrow night so that before she leaves. I haven't seen her in months! I meant to reach out to her for the past couple of weeks during the break, but I kept on forgetting, and so many plans kept on popping up. Now I feel bad for not hanging out with her especially because she couldn't go on the cruise with us last month. :/

But yeah, that's what's been up lately. I want to watch so many shows and read so many books and fanfics before school gets really busy, so I feel like I don't remember to blog as much anymore, lol. I'll try to do better. :)
