Mini Reviews: Lick Me, Like Me; Gosan no Heart; Ookami Papa wa Hitsuji Tsura Shite Yatte Kuru

Title:
Lick Me, Like Me
Author: R.erun & Riffle
Chapters: 71 chapters
Publication: 2018
Summary from Goodreads:
Jooin is a young vet that charms pets and owners alike at his animal clinic. When a puppy and kitten are dumped at his door, he decides to raise them as his own. With love and care the furballs quickly become full-grown ‒perhaps a bit too much as they’re now two… hunky humans?! When your pets are this eager, it takes being a ‘pet lover’ to a whole new level!

MY REVIEW:

Based on the summary, I thought this was a love triangle or harem type of webtoon with both pets vying for their owner's attention. Well, it was kind of both? They're poly! I got too used to reading about love triangles that I completely forgot that there's another option: every gets together.  He gets with both of them, and of course, there are other guys interested in him as well. Half of the plot seemed to be about his pets being insecure about their relationship with him since so many guys were after him. I mean, it's understandable; they're in a new relationship and were also new to the human world and didn't know much about society.

I like Jooin's sister as well. She's got that overbearing noona vibe because she's used to taking care of Jooin since he was young and isn't afraid to admit that her own husband is weird lol. I would have liked to see her husband though to see their dynamic.

I like the extras as well. I'm glad that the panther gets some more screen time in the extras because he was an interesting character.

Title: Gosan no Heart
Author: Ogawa Chise
Pages: 154
Publication: 2012
Summary from Novel Updates:
"Why don't you date me?" And that's how Miki started going out with Udou, from next door's classroom, who was fighting with his ex-girlfriend. It was because of a whim, just a "game". But being with Udou, he started getting comfortable? During the sex, Udou took control of him with tricks, making him tremble in pleasure. Tender caresses, sweet passion? What happened to my body? Damn, I'm not like this. A traditional boyfriend, and a boy who likes to flirt. A story of pure and immoral love between high school students.

MY REVIEW:

Look, I'm a sucker for fake relationships that turn into real ones, and the main story portrayed it beautifully. Miki starts to fake date Udou to get his clingy ex-girlfriend off of his back, but as they get to know each other more and have sex, Miki starts realizing his feelings and can't compute because he's a flirt lol.

The art's really nice, the boys are interesting, and the plot was well executed.

There's two other oneshots at the end, which were also hot and sweet.

Title: Ookami Papa wa Hitsuji Tsura Shite Yatte Kuru
Author: Kurusu Haiji
Pages: 178
Publication: 2016
Summary from Manga Updates:
Tatsumi vowed to never start a relationship with a dad. But, after meeting his junior colleague, Yuto (a sweet single dad), the idea of the three of them spending time together seems like something he might want. Tatsumi decides to break it off before he gets too attached. One night, he tries to hit on Yuto to drive him away, but it unexpectedly works!

3.5 STARS - I LIKED IT

MY REVIEW:

This manga is about found families. It was heartwarming to see Tatsumi overcome his childhood trauma issues through interacting with Yuuto and his son.

I liked how straightforward Yuuto was, and how they actually communicated with each other to prevent unnecessary misunderstandings. However, his test near the beginning was a bit too extreme. Other than that, he's a great dad and partner.

But the real star was his son, Ritsu! He's so adorable and lovable! Any panel with Ritsu (and his new friend) was just so fluffy and sweet. There's also a spin-off sequel about Tatsumi's coworker, Yura, which is pretty cute but a little darker (Sensei wa Butchozura Shite Yatte Kuru by Kurusu Haiji). It also has a chapter about Ritsu and Kanata as high schoolers, which was super cute.
