Attending the debutant ball to meet this new Susanne, Adelaide ends up making a deal with the handsome duke Felix: become his "fake" fiancee so he can keep the gold-digging Susanne away from him! As Felix warms to his companion, can Adelaide win this battle for his heart? Based on the hit novel.

2 STARS - IT WAS OKAY

MY REVIEW:

I couldn't really put my finger on it, but this webtoon got boring after a while. There's a clear villain (and some minor ones), and the main characters know that they must get rid of her to solve their problems. Maybe because the essential plot was so clear cut from the get-go that it ruined the mystery and foreshadowing that the authors were trying to convey?

I started skipping around chapters after I got to chapter 35 and didn't feel like I missed much of the plot in between. The art was really pretty, which was probably most of the appeal that kept me reading the webtoon.

Title: Let Me Eat You... Please?
Author: Rico Sakura
Chapters: 5 chapters
Publication: 2018
Summary from Renta:

"I don't mind being your dog at all."

Ever since Akira started at that school, rumors have been flying around about the class loner, Yukiharu Kumagaya. One day, Akira gets paired up with Kumagaya in gym class. Somehow, Akira seems to have struck a chord with him and the alleged badass is in love. He does whatever Akira tells him, following him around like a pet dog or a duckling... He's nothing like the rumors said! Not just that, he keeps getting jealous and trying to get more than friendship out of Akira. Sometimes, he's just so handsome, it even makes Akira blush. Poor Akira sure attracted a lot of trouble... And yet, he still somehow can't bring himself to leave Kumagaya alone...

A high-school romance between the calm, devoted, and dog-like "Yuki" and his little master!

3 STARS - I LIKED IT

MY REVIEW:

I'm always a sucker for giant puppy semes and their soft-hearted ukes! This was very fluffy and cute! There's not a lot of character development since it's just one volume, but I liked how they eventually communicated their problems.

Title: I Became a Villain Daughter
Author: Kuroda Yuzuki & Koura
Chapters: 7 chapters
Publication: 2019
Summary from Manga Updates:

On her 15th birthday, Hinase Kaede, a young girl who was working as a part-timer, perished in a traffic accident. Upon her death, a self-proclaimed “God” appeared, declaring that Kaede would be brought back to life. However, Kaede’s happiness was short-lived and her soul was thrown into Erika, the villainess of an otome game! In the original game, Erika became a saint candidate alongside the heroine, committed evil deeds over the course of the candidacy, and ultimately faced condemnation. Thus, Kaede decides that she will not get close to the main characters of the game so as to avoid the bad end, but yet——?

This is the long-awaited fantasy story of a villainess who makes every effort to avoid falling into ruin.

3 STARS - I LIKED IT

MY REVIEW:

This had the potential to be so much more! Obviously, there could have been more antics to avoid the capture targets because I think one wasn't even mentioned in the manga. Also, we never got to know what all cheats "god" gave her, and the manga definitely underplayed her cheats. She can talk to animals/demons and was given more powers later, but that was barely covered.

There were so many potential plot points that could lead to different courses of her fate! There's supposed to be a whole journey, but it just ends with talk about it instead. I thought that this manga might be based off of a light novel, but I can't seem to find any, so I guess the manga got cancelled which is a shame.
