Title: Quickly Wear the Face of the Devil

Chapters: 176 chapters + 15 extras

Summary from Novel Updates:

A top hacker was chosen by the Lord God to be reborn into countless worlds, always as an expendable villain.

With no free will, every world became a dead end. Every one of his lives ended tragically.

Finally, after wrestling control of the Villain System, this ace hacker decided to enact revenge. Even if his very bones were rotten, he’d choose to occupy the very heights of morality, if only on the surface.

Thus, he would change his fate as an abused slag.

5 STARS - IT WAS AMAZING

MY REVIEW:

I finally understand why everyone raves about this book. Quick transmigration stories are hit or miss with me because I lose interest if the arcs and characters aren't interesting enough. However, that definitely wasn't a problem here.

Reading about Zhou Yunsheng's revenge and trying to figure out who the male lead was in each arc was really fun. There's 15 arcs in the main story, so there's bound to be something that interests you. The first arc was the most boring because it repeatedly emphasized his great hacking skills, but it's not a bad start.

My favorite arcs were the autistic painter, the landlord, the concubine, the supermodel contestant, researcher in the apocalypse, the light priest, the twin, and the emperor arcs. Lol I didn't realize I liked so many of them until I wrote it out.

There are also four more arcs as extras which are more kinky, so if that's not your thing, you can just skip it.

2 STARS - IT WAS OKAY

MY REVIEW:

I really liked the author's other work, Stone Age Husband Raising Journal, so I thought I would like this book. Unfortunately, I thought this book was too slow and boring.

There was a lot of repeated information, especially about the beast bead and beast cores, which got tiring after a while. The romance was supposed to be sweet and fluffy, but it was more slow and draggy to me.

Even the face slapping events weren't that great. The author tried to drag out the tension by having a bunch of spectators comment on the event, but it was just unnecessary drivel with little payoff at the end. However, I might be more biased about this point because I had recently finished reading Quickly Wear the Face of the Devil, which had the BEST face slapping moments.

Title: Anti-Platonic
Author: Yupopo Orishima
Pages: 199
Publication: 2015
Summary from Renta!:

Playboy Ryoya has a male fuck buddy: his roommate Io. Io's cold and doesn't show his feelings, but his chemistry with Ryoya is incredible. Io never falls in love, but will his addiction to the scent of Ryoya change him into an obsessed lover? He's never revealed his true feelings before...

2.5 STARS - I LIKED IT ENOUGH

MY REVIEW:

It was pretty fun watching a well-known player/party animal fall for his friends with benefit roommate. He went from a manwhore to a puppy real quick as soon as he realized his feelings lol.

I wished there was more from Io's point of view because there wasn't as much backstory to why he's so apathetic or how/when he fell for Ryoya compared to his past relationships.
