Title: The Red String of Fate
Author: Yoshio Akira
Chapters: 5 chapters + 2 extras
Publication: 2016
Summary from Renta!:
Keiji has the special ability to see red strings of fate...threads that connect when two people are meant to spend the rest of their lives together. One day, he looks down at his hand and sees that his string has finally connected to someone!! But when Keiji finds the person on the other end, he realizes it's... a guy!!!
I loved how Kei was just in denial while slowly falling for Hiro while Hiro was just earnestly having doki doki moments with his crush after Kei stopped yelling at him lmao. Hiro as a puppy seme was super adorable, too.
Title: Kanawanu Koi no Musubikata
Author: Yoshio Akira
Chapters: 6 chapters + 1 extra
Publication: 2018
Summary from Manga Updates:
Kamisawa Kaoru can see - and cut - not just the red thread of fate, but any of the many threads which bind people to each other in varying forms. He uses this ability to run a business where he gets rid of pesky relationships for others. Ironically, Kamisawa himself has no red thread, and therefore is forever fated to watch his lovers find their destined one and leave him behind.
He thought he had long since come to terms with this harsh reality, until the day when a man named Hara comes to him for help getting rid of a stalker...
3.5 STARS - I LIKED IT
MY REVIEW:
This is a spin-off of The Red String of Fate, where Kaoru was introduced in one of the later chapters.
The insta-love was really quick, but I'll give it a pass because Hara was 100% into Kaoru and respectful of his wishes. Even though Kaoru kept a strict line in their relationship, he still fell for Hara even knowing that it'll end up in heartbreak for him. The pain Kaoru felt knowing that the red string of fate's never given him a happy ending and trying to protect himself was so heartbreaking.
Title: Tsunaida Koi no Kanaekata
Author: Yoshio Akira
Chapters: 6 chapters + 2 extras
Publication: 2019
Summary from Manga Updates:
The continuation of Kamisawa and Hara's relationship, and the rocky path they must tread before they can find true happiness with each other.
4 STARS - I REALLY LIKED IT
MY REVIEW:
This is a sequel to Kanawanu Koi no Musubikata.
The angst! The selfless love! The persistence! I loved it! Also, Kei from The Red String of Fate plays a part in here!
