Summary from Novel Updates:

Mo Tianliao was a master weaponsmith and a demonic cultivator. When news spread that he was about to complete a divine weapon, cultivators from both the demonic and orthodox sides chased him down and killed him. In a stroke of luck, he managed to possess a new body and was reborn.

So what was the first thing on his mind after his rebirth? Avenging his death? Taking over the world?

Mo Tianliao: I have to find my cat!

Mo Tianliao: Why won’t you let me hug you? You used to be my cat!

Master: (unsheathes claws)

Mo Tianliao: Ahaha, this disciple has too much respect for Master, this disciple can’t bear to let Master walk on the ground!

Master: (lifts paw, sends disciple flying)

4 STARS - I REALLY LIKED IT

MY REVIEW:

Mo Tianliao is so whipped for his cat it's hilarious. His cat is super tsundere and adorable, so I can understand why Mo Tianliao loves him so much lol. I loved how everyone spoiled Qingtong (as they should!)

I loved their sect, too! Qingtong's interactions with his disciples and the sect master were hilarious.

Title: As the Minor Gay Rival in Het Novels
Author: XiXiLi
Chapters: 106 chapters + 11 extras
Publication: 2016
Summary from Novel Updates:

There are always four kinds of people in the traditional Mary Sue world. The Male Lead, the Mary Sue female lead, the woman who never wanted to see the female protagonist live a good life, and the infatuated man willing to destroy heaven and earth to get the female lead.

However, with the rapid expansion of the army of rotten women, there is also a growing type of character, and that is a man who is also infatuated with the male lead… This character is referred to as the gay guy. They share the same infatuation as the second man, also has a tragic end and works together in hindering the male and female protagonist’s love.

Fan Yuan has walked in every time and space playing as the gay man. He had always enjoyed it, until one day, with superb acting, he made the male lead bent… o (╯-╰) o

Fan Yuan (affectionate confession): “I do not want to be your brother, in fact, I have always loved you.”

Someone (fondly looking back): “Me too.”

Fan Yuan (⊙_⊙): “…”

You’ve got the wrong line, bro!

3.5 STARS - I LIKED IT

MY REVIEW:

It's so hard trying to keep the plot on track when the male lead keeps on messing around lmao.

This was also one of the rare novels where there's smut. Must be because this was written before China's censorship cracked down in the past few years.

Title: Hold On, You’re Something Else
Author: 童柯
Chapters: 109 chapters + 9 extras
Publication: 2020
Summary from Novel Updates:

Rong Jing is an easy-going person. After transmigrating into a book, he tries his best to avoid the inevitable ending of a cannon fodder. Instead of provoking the book’s protagonist, he quietly stays as an Alpha though he is actually a heavenly dish within the circle.

The protagonist in the book is a heart throb omega. He is born into a poor family but is constantly striving to improve himself. He’s talented and all, like he basically has a cheat in life. His career is very important to him.

Lots of big shots are attracted to him and want to bow down to him because of his bewitching pheromones. The more they like him… the crazier and more perverted they become.

Rong Jing didn’t finish reading the book so he wasn’t aware that this book is a wicked revenge story and that the protagonist suffered because of his beauty.

Then one day, he got drunk on those very same fascinating pheromones all night.

The next day, as he watched the crying, red-eyed protagonist, he proposed to work hard to learn how to be a good financial backer for him for one year.

A year later, when he decided to break up with him for good, the protagonist slapped him with their agreement. Even his fans scolded him fiercely saying that he should take responsibility.

Hold on!

So was he only acting innocent?!

4 STARS - I LIKED IT

MY REVIEW:

There's so many great points in this book!

Here's a list because I'm lazy lol:

  • Healthy relationship based on mutual respect and sincerity
  • Serious development about mental health issues caused by extreme conditions and actively trying to get better through therapy, medicine, and help from friends and family
  • Hilarious internal thoughts while the shou chased the oblivious gong
  • Realistic portrayal of a straight guy slowly bending
  • Tsundere elder bro who is a secret bro-con
  • Helpful side characters with their own stories
  • Crazy villains that you can't wait for them to get their justified endings
  • Interesting take on transmigration and changing the plot
