Seeing the future always comes at a cost!

3 STARS - I LIKED IT

MY REVIEW:

With the last volume being about Bell and his group of friends' growth, Bell constantly being paralyzed with shock and indecision in this volume started growing on my nerves. When he is passive, he is SUPER passive until something happens (usually to his friends) to finally switch him into being an active participant. This is when he shines at his best, but boy, does it take a while for him to get there.

Title: Pulling Together a Villain Reformation Strategy
Author: 醉又何妨
Chapters: 96 chapters + 10 extras
Publication: 2017
Summary from Novel Updates:

Jiang Xunyi had transmigrated into a book many years ago, and always tirelessly maintained the requisite accomplishments for a villain.

After finally completing the ultra-difficult task to allow the male protagonist to kill him, an OOC warning appeared out of the blue..

Error in the actor’s lines, the character role has collapsed, the assigned task has not yet been completed, opening the Rebirth System!

So, he gloriously became… a second idiot son about to be sent to his death.

Lazily idling away the days after changing his identity, he noticed a world-changing difference.

His best friend, the male protagonist, Yun Xie was actually secretly in love with him? Are you kidding me?!

3.5 STARS - I LIKED IT

MY REVIEW:

I loved how smart but dense Jiang Xunyi was to Yun Xie's obvious feelings. Everyone else could tell his feelings except for Jiang Xunyi!

There's a lot of misunderstandings between the two, but that doesn't stop them from still caring for each other, which was one of the reasons I was able to keep going through some of the slower parts of the book.

Title: Qi Le
Author: 来自远方
Chapters: 159 chapters + 4 extras
Publication: 2017
Summary from jjwxc:

Inexplicably transported to another world, Qi Le can bear it.

Dressed as a raccoon cat, Qi Le continued to endure.

Dressing up as a cat doesn't count, and you have to struggle to survive with a kitten. I really can't bear it!

Looking at the kittens waiting to be fed, and looking at the ferocious zombies under the trees, Qi Le furiously blew up, and let out a terrifying roar: Meow!

5 STARS - I LOVED IT

MY REVIEW:

This book had elements of everything that I love:

  • Genre fusion (interstellar zombie apocalypse!)
  • A cat dad constantly giving in and spoiling his adopted kitten
  • A huge cast of unique and often hilarious animals (LOVE the eldest sister spiders and big boss ants)
  • Kickass female characters
  • WAR
  • Exciting and ingenious battles
  • World-building
  • Slow burn romance that Qi Le never intended to happen lmao
  • Cute and funny extras. I wish there were more about Qi Ning!
