Top Ten Tuesday: Finished Series I Have YET to Finish

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by the Broke and Bookish.

It's been a while since I did one of these posts... Probably because I barely read anymore. However, I really want to finish these series, because I really like them! I posted the first books' covers for the series I want to finish reading.

A relaxing weekend...until school catches up :o

It's the last day of Labor Day Weekend, and I'm both sad and happy about this. I'm sad because I have to do all of my homework that I haven't had time to do earlier this weekend, and it's a lot because I only read one chapter and started on one paper on Saturday and Sunday. That, and I have my online class later tonight, so I really need to do the reading and finish that homework.

I'm happy that I got an extra day to do all of my homework though. That's the only reason why I was able to hangout with Jessica all Saturday night and ended up sleeping over since we were so busy chilling and doing stuff for the fraternity.

But yeah, it was nice catching up and telling each other about our summer (she went to Europe and I went to China). We ate dinner at Stevi B's, which I've only eaten there once, so I got to try a lot of different pizzas there. She made me try their BBQ chicken pizza, and it was a religious experience. XD It was so good! But we didn't go to sleep until 5AM, and I woke up around 8-9, so I was pretty unproductive for the rest of the day since I was so tired. I took a couple naps with David later in the day, but they just made me groggy.

I went to bed around midnight since I kept on nodding off trying to read a chapter for photography, but I woke up to my alarm at 7:40 this morning since I forgot to turn my alarm off. :/ That's why I'm updating early in the morning for once!

But yeah, just wanted to give a little update before I go try to be a responsible student. But first--an episode of Elementary! I'm almost done watching season 3! :D

A Goodbye for Now AT&T

Last Friday was my last day of my internship with AT&T, and it was really nerve-wracking and exciting and sad.

It was nerve-wrecking and exciting because I had to give a final presentation on what I did this summer to Denise, my boss' boss, and her boss, Andy McDonald. And since all of the other interns for instructional design had already given Andy their presentation, my boss wanted me to blow my audience away and make myself memorable so that Andy might consider hiring me after I graduate. Plus, Jimmie had already started giving me a lot of pressure of doing really well for the past two weeks.

And I had already sent Jimmie and Matt my presentation earlier that week, and they tore it apart to help make it better. I'm really glad that they did, because it helped give me a better idea on my audience and made me be more creative with my presentation, and it really payed off.

Andy is known for looking at his phone during meetings, only looking up when someone says something interesting. During my presentation, he only looked at his phone once when he first came on the screen. He gave a lot of feedback as well, and both he and Denise were impressed with my presentation. They said that they've had employees who've worked there for years and still can't give a good presentation like I did! And afterwards, Jimmie got a call from Denise who told him that mine was the best intern presentation they've seen this year. :D

So yeah, even though I was really nervous leading up to the presentation and messed up a little bit in the middle, I did really good and felt really proud of my presentation.

Afterwards, Jimmie and I went through the offboarding process, and things became sad as I said goodbye to all of my teammates. I felt like I really missed out on getting to know them all better because I was so shy and quiet for the majority of the internship; I only really got to talking to them all during the last month there. But yeah, it was a sad goodbye, but hopefully I'll see them all again next summer when I intern with AT&T again.

July in Retrospect

I actually managed to read a book this month! It helped that it was totally engrossing and I had to know what was happening next, lol. I just still haven't finished reading the novella between the first and second book, so I haven't started reading the sequel yet.

I also watched a lot of things this month. Ant-Man was hilarious, and omg, I didn't know how much I would love Sense8 until I actually watched it. Lol, I managed to get David, Michelle, and Kyle interested in it as well since I watched the second half of the season in the living room, so they saw lots of scenes.

I read:
  • The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken

I watched:
  • Young & Hungry Season 2 (2015)
  • Donald Glover Weirdo (2012)
  • The Expendables (2014)
  • Ant-Man (2015)
  • Sense8 (2015)
  • Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones (2002)

June in Retrospect

So my hiatus ended up being a lot longer than I expected to be. -__-" I'm gonna try to catch up on posts like this in the next few days. A lot has happened!

I can't believe I went to China two months ago; it already feels like forever ago. I never documented anything about my trip, so I want to write down a couple of my experiences now while I still remember them. That said, hopefully that will be one of the first posts I get around to writing about when I get the pictures off of my external hard drive.

Anyway, I didn't watch or read much this month. I think I was too busy getting adjusted to living with my sis and her boyfriend. However, he wants us to watch all of the Star Wars movies so that we'll know what's going on when the new movie comes out, so that's slowly happening.

I watched:
  • Commitment (2013)
  • Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999)
