Title: I Am the Nanny of the Villain
Author: 이서래
Chapters: 190 chapters + 15 extras
Publication: 2021
Summary from Novel Updates:
She became the nanny of Claude, the blackened male protagonist who would destroy the world. If this continues, she will be killed by the cursed power possessed by the blackened male protagonist. So, she decided to pour out her love for the blackened male protagonist to prevent the blackening.
She also raised the child’s self-esteem, and made the Duke act like a proper father, as fatherly love was essential for the male protagonist’s self-esteem.
She thought the child was gradually recovering his bright face, and the Duke was now learning how to gradually give love to the child.
But she doesn’t know if it’s because she worked too hard….?
“It has always been a problem. You have hundreds of reasons to abandon me, but I don’t have a single one.”
“Nanny will always be by my side, right? That’s why you can’t go. Never, never.”
Two men started obsessing over me.
MY REVIEW:
I made it almost halfway through the book to chapter 87 before finally calling it quits. There's something about this book that just made me uninterested in continuing reading it after a while. I think my main problem was the Korean writing style, which I'm not very familiar with. The writing was supposed to be kind of light and fluffy to match and (I suppose) emphasize Claude's cuteness, but the whole tone got boring after a while.
I spent a couple days during Memorial Day weekend only feeling up to reading a few chapters per day before deciding to call it quits. I mean, I was expecting to pull an all-nighter reading a good book during the holidays since I had time to do so! But instead, I watched a bunch of anime, since it was more interesting than this book.
Title: Transmigrated Into the Male Lead’s Cannon Fodder Dead Wife
Author: 华阙阙
Chapters: 115 chapters
Publication: 2022
Summary from Novel Updates:
Du Yaoyao transmigrated into a light-hearted ancient novel called “My Powerful Minister”, where the ordinary male lead continuously moves up in life.
The male lead was promoted as an official throughout the original novel, and then his wife died. By the end of it, he became the most powerful minister there was and was surrounded by countless beauties.
Unfortunately for Du Yaoyao, she had transmigrated into the male lead’s cannon fodder wife who died early!
This woman was arrogant and overbearing, le*d and lustful. The male lead sent her to heaven the next day after he became the Prime Minister!
After transmigrating, Du Yaoyao learned that she was going to die three months later. She decided to do everything she could to save herself! She held the male lead’s thigh tightly, and pulled the strings behind the scene to help him match with all the beautiful female characters in the original novel. She was aiming to win his favor and save her life.
But every time she pulled the red string, the male lead f*cked her until she couldn’t get out of bed for three days…
Sigh, forget about being f*cked, why did the male lead still want her to give birth to a baby?
Du Yaoyao: “Help! I just want to be a matchmaker for the male lead, I don’t want to be the mother of his child!”
MY REVIEW:
Made it to chapter 76, which is where you have to pay to read the rest of the novel and realized, nah I don't like this novel enough to pay to read lightly edited machine translations. Du Yaoyao's white moonlight twist was pretty novel, especially in the first half, but then it just became another reason for the ML to become jealous and blackmail her. It got repetitive and boring after a while.

As he lay down in the wilderness of the end of the world, waiting to die, a voice suddenly sounded in his ears.
“Get up. Don’t die in my sight.”
MY REVIEW:
I only made it to chapter 8 before giving up for a couple of reasons. The first reason is that I found out that this is an alternative story to one of the author's other novels, which probably explains why there's so much summarized backstory/background info. There were too many info dumps that it became boring.
The other main reason why I stopped reading this novel was because in the 8 chapters that I read, I'm sure that the author described the main characters' eyes at least 100 times. It got so repetitive that I lost interest. Like, instead of describing the color of each other's eyes again and again, get to the actual plot. Overall, there wasn't that much to keep me interested in the book.
