DNF Review: Sooner or Later We Will Divorce; The Female Partner of the Last Days is a Scud; After Marrying the Villain, I Became Popular

Title: Sooner or Later We Will Divorce
Author: Luan Yunxia
Chapters: 57 chapters
Publication: 2021
Summary from Wattpad:

Shen Yunyi knew that he was humble and not worthy of Gu Xingjing, so he carefully hid his sincerity, conscientiously acted as a tool, and did not dare to overstep the threshold. Even if Gu Xingjing's brothers warmly accept him, even if Gu Xingjing's family members greet him with care, even if Gu Xingjing himself says he likes him, even if they hold a wedding and get a certificate, even if they are husband and wife, even if everyone thinks they are It's true love. Shen Yunyi has always firmly believed that: sooner or later they will divorce!

***

Gu Xingjing was domineering, unrestrained, and never cared about other people's feelings, but unknowingly gave all his tenderness to the child who picked it up and used it as a shield to deal with the family. After confirming his intention, he launched a fierce offensive, but with little effect.

He took Shen Yunyi to the banquet and announced their relationship in a high-profile manner. Shen Yunyi: "Don't worry, I know this is just an act, so I won't think too much about it." Gu Xingjing: ...I will bear it.

He took Shen Yunyi to the Civil Affairs Bureau to get the certificate, thinking that this time he should know what he wanted. Shen Yunyi: "You can get a divorce whenever you want, and I won't pester you." Gu Xingjing: ...I'll bear it!

The second brother who ran away on the day of the blind date learned that Shen Yunyi was spoiled by Gu Xingjing, regretted it too much, and kicked his boyfriend back to redeem it. Shen Yunyi: "As long as he is willing to divorce-" Gu Xingjing: "Shut up! Unless I die, you don't even want to get a divorce certificate!"

MY REVIEW:

It's your typical blushy, docile shou with a stubborn streak for his gong and arrogant, terrifying gong who is only nice to his shou with lots of side characters to point that out. Not very exciting and stereotypical family drama.

Title: The Female Partner of the Last Days is a Scud
Author: 陆九金
Chapters: 99 chapters + 2 extras
Publication: N/A
Summary from Wattpad:

Knowing that she had transmigrated into a post-apocalyptic novel, Lu Xi practiced a peerless martial art-Scud...

Adhering to the principle that if she can't beat zombies, she can run too. ╭(╯ε╰)╮

Lu Xi was like a fish in water in the last days until he met someone...

"Stop-"

Lu Xi panted with her hips on her hips, and said angrily, "You can even catch up!!"

Smiling slightly, "Oh, maybe it's because I have long legs."

Lu Xi lowered her head and admitted her mistake, "Brother, I won't dare to tease you again."

Chapters 5 and 6 are extra chapters, little angels can skip directly and read Chapter 7

MY REVIEW:

I just couldn't get into the writing style. It was very self-fulfilling and amateurish.

Title: After Marrying the Villain, I Became Popular
Author: 甘洄
Chapters: 91 chapters + 1 extra
Publication: 2021
Summary from Novel Updates:

Xia Wan has transmigrated into a book, and he has somehow become a cannon fodder who was ambushed by the protagonist in the novel.

When he transmigrated, he was in Slag Gong’s engagement banquet and was humiliated.

Xia Wan casually grabbed the tallest, handsome man in the audience and quietly asked for help.

In the silence, it was easy to see the almost top-quality man’s star-shaped eyes and a smile on his lips. He quietly hooked his arms around Xia Wan.

Later, Xia Wan discovered that the handsome man whom he held tightly was protagonist Gong’s brother, Huo Yu, the biggest villain in the book.

MY REVIEW:

The novel felt disjointed, especially at the beginning. The translations were also slightly better than MTL, which probably caused more confusion trying to understand what was happening. After reading halfway through the book, I realized that most of my initial confusion was because of the author's writing style, which likes to skip scenes and refer back to it in the next scene. Although I like to complain that a lot of authors like to over explain events, this was the exact opposite lol. Overall, the characters and plot are pretty typical and tropey. Not a great read but not terrible. I just wanted to quit reading it because I had higher expectations, especially considering this was from Chrysanthemum Garden.
