Savannah Trip w/ Alec & His Parents

This weekend/birthday trip was originally supposed to go in a totally different direction! We originally planned on drive to Chattanooga, but it was snowing that weekend, so we changed plans at the last minute to go to Savannah instead to celebrate Alec's mom's birthday.

We drove down to Alec's parents' house Friday night, and then drove to Macon to eat dinner at Kudzu. It was my first time there; it wasn't bad! After dinner, we went back home to sleep early for the drive tomorrow, since it was around 3 hours away.

After a little late start in the morning, we drove to Savannah around 9am after breakfast. We couldn't check-in early, so we had the valet take the car and walked around the area for lunch. It was also super cold and windy that day! The wind chill was crazy at 19mph! Luckily for me, I like the cold, so I was okay unlike Alec and his parents lol.

While looking for lunch, we walked through some of the squares. I just love the layout and all of the greenery in each square.

Since it was so cold, went to Flying Noodle Bar for lunch, since we all wanted something with soup to warm us up. I tried their Kiwi Green Tea, which was fruity and a little too sweet. It became refreshing once the ice melted a little lol.

After lunch, we walked around some more to kill time while waiting to check into our hotel. Because they were preparing for St. Patrick's Day next weekend, they dyed all of the fountains green in Savannah, which was cool to see.

We walked around River Street and ended up going through JW Marriott Savannah Plant Riverside District, which has these awesome giant geodes and shiny dinosaur bones!

We were finally able to check-in, so we walked back to the hotel. The parents wanted to rest, so Alec and I went out for drinks because I saw that a popular coffeeshop called The Coffee Fox was selling Horchata Lattes and Horchatta. We also tried their goat cheese brownie, which was also different but tasty.

After that, we walked around a bit before heading back for dinner. We wanted to go to Corleone's for dinner but found out that there was an hour and a half wait since we didn't have reservations. That's when we found out that most nice places needed reservations lol. We were getting estimated wait times for up to 2.5 hours whenever we called just because we didn't have reservations! Luckily, we decided to walk into a.Lure and see if they had spots available, and they did! The food was also really good! So very glad that we went lol.

Alec's mom wanted to go to Better Than Sex - A Dessert Restaurant for desserts afterwards, but we found out that there was an hour and a half wait there as well. Instead, we went to Lulu's Chocolate Bar, which was recommended by our waitress. The desserts weren't that bad! Alec and I shared the ice cream sundae (without the alcohol lol) and found out that it came in a bowl made of chocolate! How cool! But also, they did not skimp on the ice cream. We were stuffed after eating half of the bowl lol.

After that, we went back to the hotel with Alec's parents to get some snacks from their room. Since we were still stuffed, we decided to go out and walk around again to people watch until we were frozen lol.

When we got back to our room, we took a hot shower and played {THE AND} Dating Edition until we got sleepy. Alec and I were talking about getting this game after playing the friends edition with Archana a while ago, but I was surprised to find out that he had already bought it.

The next morning, we went to Little Duck Diner for breakfast. It was super aesthetic! Just look at their cups! And the portions were huge!

Then, we checked out of the hotel and drove back to Alec's parents' house. Alec's mom was having stomach issues, so we stopped to get some sandwiches from Jason's Deli before eating it at home. Then, Alec and I loaded up his car with plants his parents were giving him and drove home.

We were so exhausted by the time we got back that we only took in a couple of the bags, changed into our pj's, and napped for two hours on the couch lol.

All in all, this was a short but very busy trip!
