Webnovel Review: Transmigrated Into a Big Boss to Snatch Away the Cannon Fodder by I Had a Dream Once

Title: Transmigrated Into a Big Boss to Snatch Away the Cannon Fodder
Author: I Had A Dream Once
Chapters: 155 chapters + 19 extras
Publication: 2019
Summary from Novel Updates:
Rong Qing transmigrated into the role of a big boss inside a book. Passionate, rich, and extremely good looking. Yet this kind of big boss character, there were a total of six in the original book. All were embraced and hugged left and right by the original book’s main character Xiao Ziqi. How can this be in accordance with the values of an upright modern society? Rong Qing immediately sharpened his (metaphoric) sword and prepared to battle against the other big bosses. He will let them learn that although love was precious, making money is even sweeter! During this process, he also accidentally picked up a little wolf pup cannon fodder from the original book and started his sweet, yet hilarious new life…
5 STARS - I LOVED IT

MY REVIEW:

I love Rong Qing's character. He's so refreshing to read lol. This guy is so confident and gay. He knows what he wants, which is to earn money and be happy. His happiness is earning money, spending his money, flaunting his wealth, and enjoying eye candy lmao. You'd think such an arrogant character would be annoying to read, but his childish thoughts further highlights his hilarious actions.

Lmao Rong Qing's internal monologue when he's embarrassed is freaking hilarious. I died from laughter multiple times because of it! He's so exaggerated and ashamed and dying inside while he tries to appear outwardly calm. And Lin Ji totally sees through him but doesn't expose him, which makes it even funnier.

His gossipy nature is hilarious, especially when he has to tone it down to maintain his big boss image in front of other people lmao. This big tsundere! Always saying one thing while internally shouting the opposite just to maintain his cold, aloof image lol.

I really love how most of the characters are gossipy at heart and are always trying to watch a good show. There's a lot of dogblood drama sprinkled throughout the book, but the best part is that the main characters are also spectators to the show. Instead of being a part of the drama, they're off to the side with the best view, commenting and eating melon seeds lol.

I appreciate how Lin Ji compliments Rong Qing's character. Because Lin Ji was a child actor and has been in the business for 10 years but didn't become popular because of multiple reasons, he's naturally cautious and perceptive of people around him. He's calm and steady as he slowly gets to know Rong Qing and learns how to read his tsundere ways. I always die laughing because Lin Ji usually witnesses Rong Qing's most embarrassing moments and has to quickly think of ways to get them both through the embarrassment lol.

Their romance is sweet and hilarious. The whole pursuing and being pursued aspect was cute but hilarious because Rong Qing keeps on acting calm when it happens but is dying from sweetness inside. He keeps on trying to show off that he's in a relationship, which was cute. What a tsundere lmao.

His poor CEO friends have it rough being Rong Qing's friend though lmao. He even made a group chat called Heartless Money Making Machines or something like that just to show off his wealth and power lol. However much his friends keep saying that they're going to leave the group, they never actually do. It's a solid but weird friend group lol.

Rong Corp's lawyer team and public relations department also need a shoutout. They're the most motivated employees I've ever read about lol.

The extra story about He Qian, Rong Qing's head assistant, and Sweet Pea (his cat) was not what I was expecting though. It was a bit out there but ultimately sweet.
