Kpop Appreciation Post: Red Velvet, NCT U, IKON, Infinite

It's been a couple of years since I've last done one of these posts. It's not that ever I've stopped listening to Kpop, but I kind of got out of it for a while and stopped being part of the fandom. I kind of still don't really get into fandom parts of Kpop anymore, but I still listen to the music all the time (thanks Spotify playlists, lol) and watch a couple of variety shows every once in a while. But yeah, there's been so many amazing songs out lately that I've been absolutely loving and wanted to share with you!

First off, Red Velvet's new song, "Bad Boy," has been a particular favorite of mine recently. I was a little on the fence when I first heard it, but the more I listened to it, the more I loved it.

The music, the chorus, the music video, the outfits, the attitude... I like it all! Just watch the music video and fall in love with the song, too. It's just so catchy and addictive, and while I really liked a lot of Red Velvet's other title songs, I'm pretty sure this is my favorite song of theirs to date.

Next is another SM group song that's been stuck in my head for a while now, which is NCT U's "Baby Don't Stop." Lol, it doesn't help that I got David addicted to it, so now we randomly start whisper/singing "Stop, baby don't stop" to each other because we're weirdos like that.

At first, the whisper/singing in it didn't really appeal to me, but oh man, did I change my tune after hearing it for the second and third time. It goes with the song so well, and I like their individual voices together and alone as well. The rap parts are great, but I really loved the singing parts, especially when his voice goes so high and light. It helps that his English is really great and sounds so nice when he sings it like that, lol. Also, the dance is so cool!

I've also been loving "Love Scenario" by IKON. I thought that it was so different from most Kpop songs which usually oscillates between being super hardcore and badass to being super sad and lonely to being super cutesy and bright, which is why I really like it at first.

The beat is really nice, the dance is really interesting, the raps go with the song really well, and their voices go together really well in this song. The music video was kind of typical though, lol.

When I found out that Infinite had a new song out, I was super excited to hear it because I always like their songs. "Tell Me" was definitely not a disappointment. It was so nice and catchy and had the Infinite vibe that I always associate with their songs.

Ugh, it's just a really good song. I forgot how much I love Infinite until I heard "Tell Me" and watched the music video got to see the dorks in action, lol. As usual, their dance is really technical and in synch. Their vocals and raps are amazing as usual, and the chorus is so catchy and nice and retain the Infinite flavor their known for. What more can I ask for? I was sad to find out that Hoya left the group though. :(
