4 STARS - I REALLY LIKED IT

MY REVIEW:

I went into this movie with no expectations and little to no knowledge about the plot other than the fact that it was supposed to be epic and an animated movie. That said, I was pleasantly surprised to find myself really enjoying the movie.

Lately, whenever I think about wanting to watch a kid's movie, I usually get turned off because of how immature everything is, but EPIC was the total opposite. Yeah, some characters were brash and stubborn in the beginning, but it was an instrumental part of themselves, and watching their character growth was very satisfying.

Also, EPIC had the perfect blend of action and humor to keep the movie interesting. I just loved the slugs; they were the best comic relief!

Actually, I think that the movie had the best side characters. Most of them could have been expanded upon more, but they all played important roles in the movie whether it was to move the plot forward, provide advice, or just plain comic relief.

And the pacing was great. Not too slow, and not too fast.

In addition, the animation and art was flawless. The scenery and characters were beautifully rendered, and the execution was amazing.
