How My Thanksgiving Break Went/Is Going

This break has been pretty fun although I know that I'm going to be rushing through all of my assignments the rest of today and tomorrow. D:

After work on Tuesday, I hitched a ride with Lauren up to her house in Conyers before we met up with Shelle for dinner after she got off of work around 6. We went to this really good Japanese place, and Shelle even secretly ordered Lauren a birthday cheesecake slice since her birthday was the next day.

Then Shelle took me back to grandma's where she was staying at, and I had to finish my part of the red team review before goofing off for the rest of the night. Shelle took a vacation day for Wednesday, so we hung out after my group and I finished our memo report online before our cousins came over to pick us up to hang out.

We were planning on going shopping at the mall since there were already a lot of sales before Black Friday, but we were planning on going to watch Delivery Man at 7:30 and we didn't have that much time since we left late. Instead, we went to eat dinner at this Korean BBQ place we frequently go to and stuffed ourselves silly. The food was great, and we tried the kimchi pancakes instead of getting the kimchi stew like usual, and it was great even though I had never eaten so much kimchi in one sitting, lol.

The only thing that sucked was that towards the end, there was this group of older guys who were seated in the room next to us who decided to start smoking even though the place had a sign that said it was a smoke-free area. Luckily, we were pretty much done with dinner by then, so we left. But still. No one wants to smell smoke while eating. >:|

The other thing that sucked about that night was that when we got to the movie theater, it turned out that the 7:30 showing was actually at 8:45, so we had to wait over an hour in their lobby. What was cool was that there was a lot of people waiting to watch Catching Fire, and we saw this Effle look-a-like in line. I even took a Snapchat for my friends, lol.

The movie was pretty good. It wasn't as funny as I was expecting, but it still made me laugh enough to enjoy it. I'm never gonna not think about this one since in the movie whenever I hear someone say the word "darling" now though, lol.

After that, we were planning on going to Arte 3, this Korean dessert place that we usually go to for patbingsoo, but since Nicole wanted bubble tea, we went to Suno instead and got patbingsoo there instead before going back to grandma's house to chill for a couple of hours.

On Thanksgiving, Shelle and I stayed in bed and didn't get up until around noon. Our grandma and everyone else in the house was so busy making and preparing for all of the orders placed earlier that work for Thanksgiving, that after eating, Shelle and I helped prepare some of the food before we had to leave since Madeline invited us to have Thanksgiving with her family, and they were starting to eat pretty soon. We had to drive around 2 hours back home in order to get there on time, and we were already running late. -__-"

But yeah, Shelle practically sped half of the time when the cops weren't around and we made it 30 minutes earlier than we said we would, even after stopping by Publix to pick up a pie or two for dessert. Only thing that went wrong was the fact that Publix was closed, as was every other store around. -__-"

We didn't get any pie, lol. But we did stuff ourselves at Madeline's house and chilled while her mom went out Black Friday shopping around six. Madeline also invited Tapas over, so we were busy laughing for the most of the time, lol.

Then, around 8, I met up with Shanice to go Black Friday shopping since all of our other friends already were shopping with their families. We hit up Wal-Mart first before going to the mall and going to American Eagle, Aeropostale, and JC Penny. Then we went to Best Buy and Kohls before going to McDonald's since we were hungry before calling it a night and going back to my house to talk. Since the Black Friday deals started earlier this year and because we weren't in dire need of many things and were tired, we finished shopping around midnight and ended up talking until four in the morning. XD

But man, those lines though! For some of the stores, the lines to the registers were ridiculous even though we came later than their starting time, like in American Eagle. The line went zig-zagging around the store that it was impossible to try to get to the fitting room without breaking through the line at least twice. It was so ridiculous that I didn't even bother looking around much, and since Shanice only wanted one shirt, she bought it online instead since they had free shipping. Luckily for us, since we came two hours later than when Best Buy started their sales that we didn't have to fight over anything or wait that long in line.

We also made plans to do some homework together at Bare Bulb before going to watch Thor: The Dark World. We didn't get much homework done. -__-" That's why, after we watched the movie, we went back to my house to do more homework before having dinner. Since we didn't accomplish much that day, we decided to really focus on doing everything the rest of the weekend, so we goofed off the rest of the night by bringing Shanice's dog over to have a playdate with Meethu's dog.

So now I'm trying to not fall asleep studying/reading my microecon book before reading some more articles to use for my research paper and trying not to regret my life decisions since I've got so much to do every day for the rest of the week and until finals are over. D:

Top Ten Tuesday: Things I Am Thankful For

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by the Broke and Bookish.

I am thankful for a lot of things. Without them, my life would be so sad.

Top Ten Things I Am Thankful For:
  1. Family - They put up with me.
  2. Friends - They get me and enable me.
  3. Books - They made me love reading.
  4. Internet - It made me love reading more than just books.
  5. Netflix - I am both thankful and hateful towards Netflix. On one hand, I can marathon so many series and seasons. On the other hand, I have so many tv shows and movies I want to watch now in my list that it's ridiculous.
  6. Food - I kind of need that to survive, and I could never turn down food.
  7. Music - I don't know how I would survive without listening to music whenever I can. D:
  8. Tumblr - Fandoms are so great. I love reading everyone's sincere posts and reactions about the characters or plots in a show or movie on Tumblr. The fanart, fanfics, manips, and edits are so awesome.
  9. Snapchat - Because of the app, I no longer care about how embarrassing my pictures look like and am able to keep my friends updated with random things that I come across since I don't keep up with my social media frequently.
  10. Technology - Without it, I would never be able to keep in contact with most of my friends and family, and I would never be able to discover new things to obsess over.
I just wished that I would be able to rest some more. I've been staying up late for the past few days, and I'm exhausted. I haven't had more than an average of four hours of sleep since this weekend. D:

And I've still got to do a lot of homework over the break. ;___;

i regret my life choice aka why do i always procrastinate? :c

These upcoming weeks are going to be really busy, and not in a fun way. :c

Well, this weekend will be fun, but everything else is going to suck.

Homecoming starts tomorrow, so I'll be staying on campus late with my friends to watch the light parade and make s'mores while watching the fireworks. There's a skit, too, which I'm looking forward to, even though I have no idea what it's about. :D

Then, on Saturday, we have both the basketball game and football game going on one after another. I'm working concessions at the basketball game since it's from 10-3, but I told my boss that I couldn't work the football game since I already had plans. Apparently, Shelle has been planning this get together with her friends for a while now, and it just happened to occur during Homecoming week.

Since most of her friends graduated this summer, they haven't all seen each other in a while, especially since Amanda moved to New York, so Shelle made plans to have a get together at our house, which ended up being a dinner/slumber party since some of her friends were from out of town and no one wants to drive for 2+ hours in the middle of the night. Then one of her friends pointed out that she was missing some people, so the little get together expanded, and then she invited some of my friends since she didn't want me to be lonely at the party even though I already know all of her friends, lol. So yeah, now the party's grown bigger, and our parents and bro are going on a cruise earlier that morning, so we have the house all to ourselves.

This is the first time we've ever thrown a party while our parents are out of town, lol. Granted, it's not a huge party and we're not planning on getting any hard liquor for anyone to get drunk, but still. Our parents have gone out of town on weekends so many times in the past five years, and we've never done anything like this behind their backs.

But yeah, that's going to be fun. I invited both my high school friends and college friends, so it's gonna be interesting to see how they all act around each other, lol.

Then, on Sunday, Shelle said that Deidra's sister, who works at a movie theater in town, can probably get us free tickets to Catching Fire for anytime that day, which is so awesome! I have so much homework I should be doing, but I don't care. I need a break anyway. :P

That is a huge lie. I don't have time to take breaks. I'm so behind on all of my stuff that it's overwhelming. And I've been staying up late reading fics or reading my textbook that I'm perpetually tired regardless of the time of day. I only wake up somewhat when I'm on the interwebs procrastinating or doing something that detracts from my sleep hours. :P

It really sucks, but I can't blame anyone but myself. I really should have started half of the stuff I'm now trying to catch up on weeks ago when I made time for them in the first place. Instead, I procrastinated and spent all of my time reading fics and watching Supernatural. D: I hate myself so much at times like these.

But yeah, I've got to finish working on a website for one class by Tuesday, write my parts of a proposal for another class by Monday, study for a test I have on Monday, finish my extra credit assignment by Tuesday, read three long articles for a quiz on Tuesday, write my parts of a project for social media before Tuesday, write a rough draft of my research paper (that I had almost two months to work on D:) before Thanksgiving Break is over, and study for another class that I epically failed the last test on and really need to bring up my grade.

Plus, after Thanksgiving Break is over, all of my projects are due along with presentations. After that week is over, finals start, which I need to cram for. So yeah, I really don't have time to waste these next few weeks, even during Thanksgiving Break. ;__;

I'm going to spend so many sleepless nights working on everything. I can see it now. ;_______; That's why I'm going to freakin' enjoy my weekend this weekend before I start worrying about finishing everything on time, lol.

Now I need to start working on something

And don't expect a lot of posting from now until the semester's over. I'll only be posting when I'm in the middle of procrastinating. :P

Cussing in College

I noticed this last year but never really gave it much thought until lately, but I've realized that I've cussed a lot more in college than I ever did in high school, which, admittedly, is a random thought. But I think there a couple of reasons why I've been cussing so much.

Don't get me wrong, when I talk about my cussing, it's usually not directed at people; it's usually used as an exclamation more than anything. Like, I usually swear when I stub my toe or almost trip down a flight of stairs or something painful. I usually don't cuss at people unless when I'm driving, which I will get into soon.

One reason I think that I cuss more now than in high school is because at my high school, you usually get into trouble if a teacher catches you cussing so I never really felt the need to swear unless I almost dropped something important or hurt myself. In college, your teachers don't care if they catch you swearing so long as it isn't directed at anyone, and in some classes, they don't mind if you swear in class as part of your discussion. Because there is less censoring in college, it's easy to just cuss whenever. Yeah, some professors and students probably dislike or think it's impolite hearing people swear, but you're not going to get in trouble for doing it.

Another reason is that I think I'm developing a case of roadrage, lol. Some people are so freakin' slow driving, especially in the left lane that I get so irritated that I cuss and call them names. And there are those drivers who slow down for no freakin' reason that you have to brake really hard in order to avoid rear-ending them that also pisses me off so much that I cuss. I don't go around speeding all over the place and try to drive as carefully as my tired brain lets me, but really. Some people should just not drive.

Also, I think that it kind of goes back to my first reason. There's just this freedom in being able to cuss whenever you want to. I don't do it often--and never excessively--but when I do, no one really thinks about it or makes a big deal about it. Cussing is a norm, especially in college. It's not like in elementary school where learning cuss words is a big deal since it makes you seem more mature so you try to use it whenever to prove how cool you are even if you don't know how to use it in context correctly. Cussing is just a form of expression. You shouldn't make such a big deal about it unless it's being used to hurt someone because that turns into bullying and abuse, which is just wrong.

But yeah, cussing... I've been doing it a lot, but I don't think it's a big deal. It's not like I'm doing drugs or have a new attitude just because I swear more often. Besides, people don't only swear when they're angry. They do it when they're happy or just realized something funny, too! Take Tom Hiddleston as an example, lol.

Now I really want to watch Thor 2. -__-"

Top Ten Tuesday: I'd Recommend To Shojo Manga Lovers

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by the Broke and Bookish.

Manga is a pretty broad since there are so many different genres to choose from. I chose shoujo manga lovers since that's the majority of the manga that I read since I prefer watching shonen anime instead of reading their manga version. And my taste for shojo manga generally involves the series to be at least somewhat funny along with an engaging plot. The plot might not be believable, but I don't mind so long as the characters pull it off. :)

Some of the series are old and don't look that pretty, but the art style grows on you, and the art always get better as the series progresses.

Book Review: Trinkets by Kristen Smith

Title: Trinkets
Author: Kirsten Smith
Pages: 288
Publication: March 12, 2013
Publisher: Little, Brown Books for Young Readers
Summary taken from goodreads:
Sixteen-year-old Moe's Shoplifters Anonymous meetings are usually punctuated by the snores of an old man and the whining of the world's unhappiest housewife. Until the day that Tabitha Foster and Elodie Shaw walk in. Tabitha has just about everything she wants: money, friends, popularity, a hot boyfriend who worships her...and clearly a yen for stealing. So does Elodie, who, despite her goodie-two-shoes attitude pretty much has "klepto" written across her forehead in indelible marker. But both of them are nothing compared to Moe, a bad girl with an even worse reputation.
Tabitha, Elodie, and Moe: a beauty queen, a wallflower, and a burnout-a more unlikely trio high school has rarely seen. And yet, when Tabitha challenges them to a steal-off, so begins a strange alliance linked by the thrill of stealing and the reasons that spawn it.
Hollywood screenwriter Kirsten Smith tells this story from multiple perspectives with humor and warmth as three very different girls who are supposed to be learning the steps to recovery end up learning the rules of friendship.
3.5 STARS - I LIKED IT

MY REVIEW:

I really liked Kirsten Smith's writing style in here. Although the three main characters are complete opposites of each other, she manages to convey their personalities so well through her words. And even though they have such different personalities and writing styles, Smith is still able to create a sense of unity through them with her flowing words and humorous diction.

However, one thing that really bugged me in the beginning was that there were so many names thrown around that I got confused. Sure, many of them were just side characters that appeared once or twice, but even more were mentioned quite a few times, so I got really irritated trying to remember who was a douche and who was a burnout and who was a supposed best friend.

Overall, I really enjoyed the book. You could tell from the beginning just how much stuff Elodie, Moe, and Tabitha were going through, so it was fun tagging along on their journey, watching them grow and realize the importance of being true to themselves. Plus, there quite some hilarious parts in the book that had me chuckling along, which is always a bonus.

i miss my bestie :c

Haven't talked to Krista in 5ever, man.

We haven't seen each other in over a year, I think. The last time we talked on the phone was once in the summer, I think. :(

I missed her so much that I emailed her since it was faster than writing letters and way more legible than my own handwriting, lol. That, and it was the most logical way to reach her since we both suck at responding to texts. :P

But yeah, we've been emailing each other back and forth for the past few weeks about what's been going on in our lives. Still, I want to see my bestie in the flesh and pretend to be lovers like how we usually are. XD

Top Ten Tuesday: Covers I Wish I Could Redesign

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by the Broke and Bookish.

Some of these covers were already redesigned for their paperback versions, but I still can't get over how lame their original covers were. :P These are mainly covers of contemporary books because they're just so cheesey or overused or awkward looking.

J2 Fic Rec!

You know there are those really great books and fics you've read that completely blow your mind at how awesome they are? Yeah, I just finished reading one yesterday, and I can't get over how great it was. It was just so real and beautiful and guh. I loved it. The characterizations, the dialogue, the emotions. It's so good.

If you're okay with rps (real people slash), then I definitely recommend mediaville's "Lost and Found." It's AU (alternate universe) so you don't even have to know anything about the characters (Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, the lead actors of Supernatural) before reading it. It's just so well-written and wonderful, I couldn't stop reading it even though I had a whole bunch of stuff to do yesterday.

So yeah, check it out!
Title: Lost and Found
Pairing: Jared/Jensen
Rating: NC-17
Warnings: Self-esteem and weight-related issues.
Word Count: 47,000
Disclaimer: None of this is true.
Summary: Jensen Ackles is a shy, overweight songwriter whose body issues have prevented him from forming any real personal connections, and at thirty, he’s still unsure of his sexuality, and still a virgin. But when he signs up for an experimental obesity research program, he meets Jared Padalecki, a stunningly sexy fitness guru who slowly but surely changes Jensen’s life.
“They don’t mean to hurt him or judge him. They love him, he knows it. They just want better for him, and it’s impossible to forget that when he sees them face to face. So Jensen’s made excuses to get out of birthday dinners, family picnics, even holidays. He keeps up with everyone via email and the occasional phone call. It’s just easier that way.”

i have a dirty mind

So I was over at Buzzfeeds and found this article full of innocent pics and gifs that made me think of crude, depraved things. Clearly I am a pervert. This does not surprise me, what with my best friend and I always pretending to lust after each other, lol.

Here are some of the pics they showed just to let you get a quick peek, lol. If you don't see anything wrong with the pics, bless your innocent mind. XD

Ugh. I've got a bunch of homework to do. I'm not supposed to be posting about not-porn on my blog. D: This next two weeks are going to be hell. DDD: Everything is basically due before Thanksgiving Break or right after since finals is the week after. ;__;

Sleep Deprivation is Bad for You

I mean, it's pretty obvious that sleep deprivation is unhealthy; you can feel its effect pretty quickly. But look at this cool infographic about sleep deprivation!

Click on the image to see its full size.

Lol, I found it on Google Images when I was trying to find an accurate pic of my sleep deprived/dazed self. I really want to stop feeling tired. :/

I also found out that I sleep in a bad position. Apparently the fetal position causes lots of problems for you in the long run. At least I'm not the only one who sleeps incorrectly and am part of the majority who sleeps around 6-7 hours every night. :P

Movies I Want to See in November

It's November and there are a bunch of movies I'm looking forward to watching! I don't know man, it feels like these past few months didn't release anything super exciting, before deciding to lump all of the great ones in November.

I mean, I'm not really complaining... I can just say that it's Hollywood's birthday present to me and get people to pay for my ticket as a birthday present, lol.

But yeah, here's a list of movies being released this month that I want to watch. This is mainly for my benefit since I can't keep track of all of them, lol.

Bookworm Problems

I found a bunch of hilarious ecards about bookworm problems. XD Only the serious book lovers suffer from these problems, lol.

Check them out!

This isn't an ecard, but it's definitely relevant, lol.

happy birthday to me~

Yayyyy. .__.

I am no longer in the teens, lol.

It's just. Man, what a crappy way to spend my birthday. I had a test that I was in no way prepared for and a group meeting for a project that I have no clue how to help build a few hours ago, and I need to prepare for another group meeting I have tomorrow, which is still going to be at 9:25 in the morning even though our professor is out of town all week since my group manager wants to get this out of the way as soon as possible even though we still haven't heard from our client yet. :\

I didn't get to do anything fun besides hangout with my friend for an hour earlier today, and I've been so sleep deprived that I was practically dazed towards the end of my group meeting.

Not fun, man.

But still, a lot of my friends Snapchatted me happy birthday, so it wasn't that bad, lol.

Books I Want to Read This Month

I actually managed to read one book last week on my lists. \o/ Let's see if I can read two books this month, especially since I have a few days off for Thanksgiving Break. :P
  1. The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
  2. The Disenchantments by Nina LaCour
  3. Dearly Departed by Lia Habel
  4. The Dealer by Robert Muchamore
  5. Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi
  6. Ketchup Clouds by Annabel Pitcher
  7. Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins
  8. The Boy Book by E. Lockhart
  9. Chime by Franny Billingsley
  10. Tiger's Curse by Collen Houck
  11. Insignia by S.J. Kincaid
  12. Fall for Anything by Courtney Summers
  13. The Whole Stupid Way We Are by N. Griffin
  14. Divergent by Veronica Roth
  15. Prodigy by Marie Lu
Ugh, I'm gonna fail this test tomorrow. D: I was supposed to do the bulk of my studying yesterday with my friends while they did their homework, but we ended up getting off topic and distracted for the majority of the day and completely abandoning any attempts of working after dinner when Shelle came home and brought her friend, too. We even went over to Meethu's house to play with her dog and ended up watching a bunch of Vines until we were so tired.

I'm so screwed! ;__; I make terrible life choices. :\
