Last post of the year!

I can't believe how fast this year flew by. I really can't. It seems like spring semester was only a month ago, let alone fall semester. This winter break is flying by as well. Shelle and Kyle are home, and I've been busy with them and David ever since, lol.

But so much has happened this year! Anime conventions, late night adventures, pickup line wars, boyfriends, Never Have I Ever, Atlanta trips, Fancy Schmancy Get Togethers...this has been a good year. Good and bad, I'm ready for next year. :)

Tumblr Pics 48

Nothing super exciting has been happening since the semester ended. I've mainly just been trying to do everything on my to-do list. I think I'm a third done already. :D

Other than that, I've mainly been hanging out with David. Lol, I've seen him almost everyday this past week. I wasn't planning on seeing him yesterday since I thought that he was going to hang out with his friend from out of town, but my mom told me to invite him over, and his friend had work, so he basically spent the whole day and night with me, since my parents went to the farm later that night.

But yeah, we've mainly been watching movies and anime on Netflix whenever he's over with my parents. I think I've watched four movies in the past week as it is, lol.

Because he's been over so much, I haven't had time to blog anything, so I'll try to find some more time to do that this week. But I really like how relaxing this past week has been. I didn't have to worry about anything. :D

My to-do list this break

This semester has been so busy and hectic that I haven't had a chance to do a lot of general maintenance around the house and chores that has accumulated into a pretty long list of things that I need to do. Lol, I pretty much created this list during finals week as a form of procrastination.

I figured that I'd post the growing list of things to do on here like I did last time during Spring Break as a way to motivate myself to accomplishing all of them. Granted, I think I only did around half of my to-do list I created earlier this year, but I'm happy that I even got that much stuff done. So here is my list of things to do over Christmas Break. :)
  • vacuum
  • wash sheets/blanket
  • return American Eagle clothes
  • sort out/wrap Christmas gifts
  • get David's gifts

  • make emergency car kit

  • return textbook
  • order textbooks
  • fill out health insurance waiver

Dusty Reads: Ink (Paper Gods #1) by Amanda Sun

Dusty Reads is a weekly post featuring a book that has been sitting unread on my home shelf for some time.

Title: Ink (Paper Gods #1)
Author: Amanda Sun
Pages: 369
Publication: June 25, 2013
Publisher: Harlequin Teen
Summary taken from goodreads:
On the heels of a family tragedy, the last thing Katie Greene wants to do is move halfway across the world. Stuck with her aunt in Shizuoka, Japan, Katie feels lost. Alone. She doesn’t know the language, she can barely hold a pair of chopsticks, and she can’t seem to get the hang of taking her shoes off whenever she enters a building.
Then there’s gorgeous but aloof Tomohiro, star of the school’s kendo team. How did he really get the scar on his arm? Katie isn’t prepared for the answer. But when she sees the things he draws start moving, there’s no denying the truth: Tomo has a connection to the ancient gods of Japan, and being near Katie is causing his abilities to spiral out of control. If the wrong people notice, they'll both be targets.
Katie never wanted to move to Japan—now she may not make it out of the country alive.
I remember how excited I was about this book when just the summary was released a while ago. It sounded so cool and interesting that I wanted to read it immediately. However, I am pretty sure that the summary I read last year was a little different compared to the current one on goodreads, because I don't remember the love interest being such a big part of the summary. Then again, it's been a while, so I could be wrong.

And when the cover art was revealed, I was even more excited about the book, since it looked so pretty. Granted, you should never judge a book by its cover, but it doesn't hurt if a book looks nice. :P

Either way, I've always loved learning about Japanese culture, so any book that involved Japan in any way has always caught my interest. Hopefully the author has done her research and is accurate with her depictions of Japan.

What stumps me is why I haven't already read this book when I got a free copy to review from Harlequin Teen last year. Judging from my initial excitement about the book, you'd think that I'd have read it almost immediately. Unfortunately, I think I was too busy to read it at the time since it was near the end of the semester, so I was too busy with that to read anything. Hopefully I will have time to read this book soon since my semester's almost over.

it's finals week...

Last week was pretty crazy since it was the week before finals, so there were a lot of projects due, and this week is crazy because it actually is finals week. -__-" Like, I had two finals on Monday, a project and take home test due today, two more finals on Thursday, and a final on Saturday.

It's been a busy week where I just don't want to do anything, lol. I've actually finished some anime that I started watching over the summer and completed watching a couple new anime series these past few days... And David and I had originally agreed on not seeing each other until Saturday since we both had finals on different days and needed to study, but we have actually seen each other for the past few days, which is really bad, lol. We should have been studying or doing our homework, but we'd do that for a little bit after goofing around for a lot longer time. -__-"

But yeah, just thought I'd inform you on what's been going on since my blog's been pretty dead for the past few weeks. On the bright side, I have a lot of blogging ideas since I've been procrastinating, so I might be able to write them up sooner or later while I'm not studying, lol. Or after finals; I have lots of things I plan on doing after finals are over, lol.

The first thing is going to Shena's Christmas party right after my last final on Saturday. My final ends at 5, but hopefully we'll all finish by 3-4 because the whole class is planning on going to Margarita's with our professor afterwards like how we did it last semester.

Since Shena's party starts at 6, I was planning on leaving around 5:30-6 to go and enjoy the end of the semester with friends for the rest of the night. It's also a white elephant party if you bring a present, so I'm debating if I want to do that as well since we're all required to wear a tacky Christmas sweater as well, and I need to find one asap. I'll prolly go to Goodwill later today and look for one when I take a break, lol.

And now I need to stop procrastinating and start studying. D:
