So much to do that I don't wanna do...

Urgh, there's so much stuff that I need to or should do, but all I want to do is laze around in my pj's on my laptop or tablet. But I can't because I have to be responsible. D:

However, that's what I usually do on weekends when I don't have plans that involves leaving the house or seeing people, lol.

But I've got shit to do, and I better do them eventually.

Seriously though, I think I've hit that slump that you usually get when school's almost over. You know, that slump where you start not giving a fuck about your grades because you're tired of your classes and just want them all to end. :| Yeah, I think I've got that.

Ugh, my legs are so sore. I originally wasn't supposed to work today, but some people called off last minute so it was just Shelle and our supervisor, Toya, working, so yeah...they really needed some help, lol. So we got off around 11:30 at night and then went to Wal-Mart to get groceries for the next few weeks since we'll be too busy and/or out of town to go shopping.

Such a long day. ._. I couldn't even do any of my homework except for my part of the lab report that's due tomorrow. Maybe I really should learn how to do all of my homework during the day so that I can slack off and sleep earlier at night... :|

Dusty Reads: The Iron King (The Iron Fey, #1) by Julie Kagawa

Dusty Reads is a weekly post featuring a book that has been sitting unread on my home shelf for some time.

Title: The Iron King (The Iron Fey, #1)
Author: Julie Kagawa
Pages:363
Publication: February 1, 2010
Publisher: Harlequin Teen
Summary taken from goodreads:
Meghan Chase has a secret destiny; one she could never have imagined.

Something has always felt slightly off in Meghan's life, ever since her father disappeared before her eyes when she was six. She has never quite fit in at school or at home.

When a dark stranger begins watching her from afar, and her prankster best friend becomes strangely protective of her, Meghan senses that everything she's known is about to change.

But she could never have guessed the truth - that she is the daughter of a mythical faery king and is a pawn in a deadly war. Now Meghan will learn just how far she'll go to save someone she cares about, to stop a mysterious evil no faery creature dare face; and to find love with a young prince who might rather see her dead than let her touch his icy heart.
I got this book for review a couple of years ago and have yet to read it. At the time, I only heard great reviews for the book and how everyone couldn't wait for the sequel to come out. I guess that's why I kept on holding off on reading it. I didn't want to have to wait a year for the next book to come out, so I just kept it in a review pile, waiting for the right time to read it.

By the time the third book came out, everyone was still gushing about the series, but I still didn't want to go into it because I didn't know if it was going to be like the House of Night series: endless. I didn't know how many books were going to be out, so I wasn't sure if I could commit to yet another long series.

Luckily, there were only four books in this series, but the hype has kept from wanting to read it--that and time constrains, but that's nothing new. :P Ever since the beginning, this series has gotten such awesome reviews that I'm afraid that I will be disappointed because of my high expectations. It's happened plenty of times over the past years, but at the same time, I've loved a lot of really hyped up books, so it's a fifty/fifty chance.

One of these days, I'm going to sit down and read the whole series. :P

Freedom for the weekend!

If only I could escape classes like this guy escapes from the paper, lol.

But I'm happy enough that I don't have class tomorrow. :D Good Fridays are good. XP

Now I just have to decide if I want to start watching a drama that is most likely going to rip my heart out and go crazy in between finding time to watch it, start a 25 episode anime and maybe get around to finishing it before classes start again on Monday, read a book or three, watch a bunch of movies, hang out with a couple of my friends who are in town, or read The Winter's Tale for class. Hmm...decisions. :P

So yeah! I hope everyone enjoys their weekend! :D

Bye~

Kpop Appreciation Post: SHINee, Infinite, Teen Top, NU'EST, B.A.P.

I haven't made one of these in a while, and so this is going to be yet another long post, lol.

There were so many comebacks in this past month! :L So many awesome songs!

SHINee finally released "Dream Girl," and I really liked it! I love the choreography! It's really cool how they incorporated the mic-stand in their dances. And the song is definitely catchy, lol. I'm glad the chorus is mainly in English, since those are the only lines I know. OTL And Taemin actually sings more in here!! I love it! His voice isn't as powerful as Jonghyn's or as smooth as Onew, but it's definitely nice, and I'm so glad that he's actually singing more.

As for the music video...I am not a huge fan of Taemin's pants, lol. Although their outfits aren't that bad as some of their other concepts. :P And the set is actually really cool! I love the dreamy, whimsical quality of the whole song. :D

And I love how SM got a bunch of their label's managers to do a dance cover to this song, lol. Everyone knows how intricate SHINee's dances are. But yeah, they got Super Junior, EXO, f(x), SHINee, and SNSD's managers to do this. I'm just assuming that this is how normal people attempt to dance to SHINee's songs. :P

Infinite just had a comeback around a week ago! :D I only knew because a couple of blogs that I follow on Tumblr were reblogging a bunch of gifs from their teasers, lol. I about died when I saw all of their teasers, they were so cute!

Check them out! Someone was nice enough to put them all in one video. :D

"Man in Love" definitely has the Infinite feel that they're songs are known for, lol. I guess that's why I really loved it; I have yet to be disappointed with anything they've put out so far. :1 Like with B.A.P., Infinite actually manages to incorporate rapping and singing really well. I guess it's because both groups have two rappers, so there are more lines of rapping in their songs? I don't know, but I definitely like it, lol. And the chorus is catchy as always, lol.

As for the music video itself, I liked it even though the beginning was kind of confusing! :P They all look so cute, omg! Lol, I'm just surprised that they went with the flower boy concept. Like, most rookie groups debut with that type of concept and then get more mature as they have more comebacks, but Infinite decided to do the opposite, going from awesomely mature with "The Chaser" to a cute guys in "Man in Love," lol.

But seriously, they're all so cute! I about died when I saw Sungjong playing with the kitten! And when it licked his nose! asldkfj CUTE. And L was such a dork! Lol, like, he was showing Myungsoo when he was filming, instead of his cool counterpart, L. :P And Dongwoo looked so cute and his smile was adorable, and the lighting for everything was nice and everyone looked overall very cuddly, lol.

Teen Top had a comeback near the end of last month, but since I don't really pay attention to Kpop outside of Tumblr blogs, I didn't really know about it until recently. -__-" But I'm definitely loving their new song! It's so damn catchy! And because of Tumblr, I think that I will be spending my weekend getting to know them, lol, since they seem like a crazy fun bunch. XD

The music video is pretty fun, although pretty illogical, lol. Like, I think they're in prison--or are they sent to prison since they're in a classroom when they were given their jumpsuits? And then all of them are in a jailcell together, but there's only two beds, lol. And then it jumps to them in a school hallway??? But either way, it's a really fun video, which goes great with it's fun song. :D

Ugh, I can't get the chorus out of my head, lol. And the dance doesn't seem to be that hard to do! At least parts of it, lol (everyone knows that Teen Top has some intricate dances :P). They even have a video tutorial of how to do some of their dances, which I thought was pretty awesome. B.A.P. did one for "One Shot" and NU'EST did one for "Hello" too. :D

And finally, NU'EST had a comeback last month, too! I really like their newest song, "Hello"! It's a much mellower song compared to all of the ones that I've mentioned above, which is really refreshing. But it's still really catchy, especially the chorus. I really like this group even though I haven't really gotten to know them, lol. I've liked all of their songs so far, so I wasn't surprised that I liked "Hello". :L It's just that, even though I liked their songs, they never really stuck with me...Like, they were catchy, but they never really got stuck in my head, so I easily forgot about them until I heard them again. But "Hello" is a different story! I had it stuck in my head for half of the day just yesterday, lol.

I also really liked the dance and the fact that they had girls in the dance. They used their props so well; everything about the dance was awesome. And I love how using their ties are part of the choreography! Ties are sexy. Bowties are super cute, lol.

The most shocking thing about the music video was the fact that one of the members actually kissed a girl. I was so shocked when I first saw it since I was so used to boy idol groups always only having one girl in their music video that they all pined over and nothing ever really happened between them that went beyond a hug or hand-holding, lol. So brownie points to NU'EST for shaking things up!

And here's their how to video that I was talking about earlier. Now you can learn how to do their tie dance! XD And others too, lol.

One last thing! Did you know that Bang Yongguk from B.A.P. has a Tumblr account?!? I only found out earlier today! And it's his legit account because he tweeted one of his blog posts on Twitter! I could not believe that he had a Tumblr account! So far, he's only posted three things, but the first two are actual songs that I'm pretty sure he composed because come on, he's Bang Yongguk, legit rapper before he became an idol, lol. Either way, they sound really awesome, and I love his deep voice.

You know what's even more surprising? I read from some comments that apparantly BYG has actually read a fanfic! I don't know if he's read more than one, but I think fans like to tweet him fanfics and maybe sometimes he'll read them??? Lol, I don't know. I just wonder if he looks through the B.A.P. tags on Tumblr. There are lots of really awesome/cute edits and gifs of pairings in there, lol. Are there a lot of B.A.P. fanfic on Tumblr? I haven't really read any except for Asian Fanfics. ...I guess I should check the B.A.P. tag myself, lol.

Movie Review: The Call

Title: The Call
Running time: 94 minutes
Release date: March 15, 2013
Rating: R
Summary taken from IMDb:
When veteran 911 operator Jordan Turner receives a call from a girl who has just been abducted, she soon realizes that she must confront a killer from her past in order to save the girl's life.
4 STARS - I REALLY LIKED IT

MY REVIEW:

I immensely enjoyed myself while watching this movie. It was so, so gripping; I was on the edge of my seat for the majority of the movie.

This is what a thriller is supposed to be like. There's so much suspense, your eyes are literally glued to the screen, anticipating the next curveball thrown at you. And it's so intense that you can't look away for a second because even if you know that something gruesome is going to occur, you're still riveted to the screen. You can't look away. The killer is too twisted that you can't help but continue watch him.

However, since this movie was said to be a thriller, I did not expect it to have scary elements. Nothing popped out and spooked you, but there were many moments where the intense atmosphere was drawn out before something really bad happened. Like, my sister was freaking out every time the killer was about to do something, lol.

And the acting! Everyone was great! Halle Berry was an awesome lead. She conveyed Jordan's emotions so well and sincerely, it was really well done. Abigail Breslin, who played Casey Wilson, the abducted girl, also acted amazingly. I don't know if I would have acted as scared and hyperventilating as she did if I was ever abducted, but she did it superbly and realistically. And the killer was spot on creepy/crazy. His expressions, his actions, his everything screamed crazy lunatic, which was awesome. All of the other characters were also well played. No one's lines seem forced or awkward, which was good, or else the tense atmosphere would have been easily ruined.

The plot was also well done, although I wonder about the ending. Like, did they really go through with it or... I guess we'll never know unless they make a sequel. But overall, the plot was pretty flawless. I couldn't think of many plotholes, although that may be because I was so absorbed in watching everything play out. And it really makes me wonder how killers think, especially after reading I Hunt Killers and Game by Barry Lyga only just recently.

Overall, I really liked the movie. If you like thrillers or even horror movies, this is a great movie for you. Or just watch it if you like watching completely immersing movies that grabs and keeps your attention from the get-go.

For the book lovers

Lol, I can't even enjoy this pleasure since I'm so poor. D: The perks of being a poor college student. :P Even though I have a job, my money continues to somehow dwindle away. :P

However, I have to start reading The Winter's Tale by William Shakespeare to work on a project with my friend. I hope it's not a bad book.

Cover Lover 30

These last few days have been super busy. I officially started working at Subway on Tuesday even though this is still my training period, and I also had to work last night knowing full well that I had a lot of stuff due today. And on both days, I worked from six until 11:30, which was closing, so I didn't get home until near midnight on both days, and I've had trouble sleeping ever since, and I don't know why (although I really hope it's not work related), and yeah.

Super busy week. I'm glad that I accomplished everything on time, lol.

I'm taking on a co-worker's shift tomorrow since she couldn't make it tomorrow, which starts right after my last class ends for the day, so yay. More work. It's not hard working at Subway, but I'm still a long ways off from remembering how to make every sandwich and wrapping them up well, lol.

And now enjoy these pretty covers. :L

Cruise Thoughts

So, I went on a cruise last summer, and I never blogged about it. I doubt I ever will now, since I forgot everything but the main points, but luckily for me, I brought my laptop on the ship and wrote out some of my thoughts while I was there.

So here's what I thought/did on the cruise--almost a whole year late. :P

Thursday, June 7, 2012
I should have brought a blanket; 6 hour ride was FREEZING.

I should have brought a jacket; it's so cold onboard! D:

I thought it was the summer--I thought Florida was supposed to be even hotter than Georgia. It sure doesn't seem like it. Maybe it was because it was raining/thunderstorming the majority of the time we were on the road here and because it's been so dark and cloudy all day onboard, with it finally raining near an hour after we finally set sail.

Knowing that I have access to food 24/7 onboard makes it really hard to have a sense of control, especially since I know that I'm just a phonecall away from room service. It's mainly the reminder that I would like to still fit my clothes that's holding me back, lol. But I still can't help my cravings for sandwiches and tea. -__-"

Booked a jeep and beach combo tour for tomorrow when we arrive at Cozumel. Pretty excited~

My mom keeps on telling me to bring my camera everywhere to take pictures to post on fb. It kind of pisses me off. Ever since my mom got a fb account, she's been stalking everyone's pictures and I feel like she just wants me to take all of these pics to show off to all of our family online. I wasn't even sure if I wanted to post any pics online in the first place.

I don't know. Maybe I don't want to take/post pics is because my mom wants me to so bad, and I feel the need to rebel. I don't think so though.

My dad's farts are pretty lethal. At first, I just thought that my mom and bro were overreacting when they found out that my dad passed gas, but then I started smelling it, which was quite a feat since I was IN MY BED, which was a couple of feet from the ceiling and a yard or two away from my parent's bed.

Saturday, June 9, 2012
I wasn't expecting to be swimming in the Mayan caves, lol. Good thing they had life vests for everyone, since I can't swim. :P It was really cool though.

Then we went to this private beach/restaurant place and ate and relaxed at the beach for a few hours before leaving. It was fun. I didn't bring extra clothes, so I just chilled in a hammock after I finished eating.

Then it was time to go back to the ferry to go back to Cozumel to get back on our ship.

My mom didn't want my dad to drive the jeep, so one of the other people with us drove, and we just followed behind our tour guide in his jeep, and I was shocked at how fast the speed limit was on the highways over there.

Sunday, June 10, 2012
I went with my mom and dad to go play Bingo since it was the last day on board and they were giving away lots of prizes. We won $1,500, but it wasn't from playing Bingo, lol.

When you went to go buy your bingo sheets, they gave you two of these raffle thingers that you opened to see if you got the of the same pictures in a row to win money. In one of the raffles that I opened, I had three suns in a row, but there was a green line through all of them, so I wasn't sure if I had won anything.

In the end, my mom made me go up to one of the workers and ask if I did win anything, and he shouted to the whole room that I hit the jackpot since three suns in a row was the highest that you could get.

So after Bingo was over (none of us won, lol), we went to the casino to cash in our raffle thinger. It was really funny since we didn't know where to go to cash it in, so we had to ask one of the workers in the casino to tell us, and he was surprised to see that we had won so much money, and then, we had to go back to our room to get my dad's wallet since they needed identification before giving him the money, and someone recognized me as the winner, and it was a strange, fun time, lol.

Monday, June 11, 2012
Woke up early to get my last breakfast on board and get ready to leave.

Having parents who don't pay attention while waiting to disembark is really annoying. It made me be thankful that I usually had Shelle to deal with them when we went on vacation.

We finally got off and went to our cousins' place to sleep for a while since we were all tired. Then, we went to our other cousins' house and got a lot of fish and vegetables and stuff. I went with my cousin's to the mall and Menchie's for a while because we were bored.

We had dinner there, and they brought out the karoke, so we didn't leave until late at night.

Eventually, we made it home and I didn't want to go on vacation with my parents for another year. Too bad we went to Canada 2 months later. :P
